Thi is the hood I want, and I know I can find it cheaper when ready to buy it....

Summit or Jeg's offers a fiberglass cowl hood that uses hood pins for $350 or so if I remember and a bolt on fiberglass cowl hood is about $450 but you need to buy lighter hood springs to use it.. Both hoods are made by Harwood and are high quality. I have the bolt on fiberglass hood on my car. It is truly a nice piece!!

Year One is probably your best bet on Camaro Parts, knowing from experience, pretty much all the places cost the same and "auto salvages" bend you over.. I wouldn't deal with them unless absolutely necessary.. You could always try Epay.. I've had some moderate success finding 71 Camaro & '65 GTO parts there. :twocents:

Welcome to the wonderful world of old car restoration!!

I think Year One sells brake lines pre bent to fit your car.. 1-800-YEAR-ONE.

They probably have that gas pedal too.

I was able to buy the gas pedal on Ebay, and was able to hand bend a brake line, works really good.

I was underneath the car sanding the "miles" of rust<I'm so dissapointed> and found a hole in the passenger rear and in the trunk, besides the one in the drivers side.
When whomever it was "fixed the hole in the drivers floorboard, they ONLY patched it from inside ,NOT underneath <grrr>
There's bad cancer spots in the rear, where it connects by the gas tank.
The good thing,is that it didn't hit the wheel wells, just bare starting and I took care of that early.
I need seat rails, new seats, shift indicator for an automatic, windshield, door cranks along with every bit of weatherstripping for the car, along with the door window wiper,so I dont brake the window, and exhaust pipes
Theres a gaping hole where the a/c one stood(not a big deal about the not having a/c but the hole needs to be blocked.)
Wow,I got so much work to do on this,it's NOT even funny, and with hubby JUST starting back with work,it will be a long time coming b4 It will get done.....
IM so depressed..
Wanna hear the dumbest thign done on that car? WEll,The wheel center caps for te rear I thought were nice,UNTIL I had to take off the tire/rim to do the brake line... WELLLLLLLLL.... somoene used a freakin engine oil cap and glued it to the rim,no chit....I almost fell to the ground...I just cannot believe how people rig things nowadays.
MY headlights are run by a toggle switch and my rear lights are run(for night) by the actual light controls

Sorry to hear about all of that....It's a total bummer. You were so excited about and it did look very good on the pics. But I'm sure you'll get through it and do a good job at it!!! Can't wait to see the final changes!!

My 2 cents on the rust situation......

If your not going for a show car, use some of that POR-15 on the underbody where rust isn't extremely bad. As long as the metal isn't flimsy or thin, I'd just put a coat of POR on everything.
Its best to remove all the loose junk first though, and it works best if you coat both sides. (ie pulling carpet and doing tops of floor pans) POR also makes a thick caulking for cracks or creases, and it can be painted over with POR-15.

Just a suggestion.

Ohio has 25 year old cars? Pennsylvania doesn't- we import ours from other states.

:( I wish I could help.

My suggestion would be to find a good second generation Camaro message board (Dennis, any suggestions?) and start asking the experts what they think is the best course of action- what to do first, tips and tricks learned along the way, etc.

I saw the auction after Kenny won it.. I know it came from the same city I live in.. I don't really know of any F-Body sites other than the one Woody68RS (from Hobby Talk) runs.. You may want to talk to him, he seems to be connected when it comes to earlier Camaros.

Beleive it or not, we do have a few 25 y/o cars... Most are rust buckets unless (as you say) they get imported from other states.. My Camaro was imported from California. It still has the factory undercoating on it. The only bad spots on the car were the bottoms of the fenders.. Which seems to plague all the the 2nd Gen Camaros.. That might be something to watch for, Moe..

Wow,am I pissed.
WE took the car to getr it inspected.
But we had to fill up before the trip.
ON the way to get the tailpipes put on(theres only mufflers there right now),gas started coming out the top of the gas tank.
Needles to say we lost a lot of premium gas,had to siphen what we could of what was left.
IM depressed,shoot me now :(
