Any interest in parting with the Majorette SAAB? And what's the little hatchback next to the Volvo sedans?

saab i i belive i have another one upstairs (ill double check later) but if i do ya welcome to both of them

the little "hatchback" as youve named it is alsoa volvo but i belive its a 740 (mookie will solve that for me)

but the strange thing is the lil white hatchback also in that picture behind the saab ive never heard of it befor its a majorete visa chrono???????

oh and back onto the subject of sierras i think one of them may be a little rare...... and its one that hasent been repainted its the silver one to the far left the weird thing is it has a cream/ tan coloured interior every other has a red (due to it being attached to the rear lights) any one else seen this or am i just being a numpty?

The Volvo is a 480ES

The white hatchback is a Citroen Visa Chrono

I'd keep hold of that Sierra as certain ones without the usual black or red interior can be worth more than the regular ones

For future reference, you can link to the threads but please do not call them 'retards'.

*sigh* Oh how i wish for a day when classic car owners and banger racers went hand in hand, it would be so easy. The classic car owners need to accept that cars will be raced, and if they dont want them raced, they should buy them themselves, and as i see it the "every right has a responsability" idea works very well here, for example a banger racer gets a restorable westy for £50, a classic car owner has just picked up a rotten westy for the same price, both are frequent visiters of retro rides and ovalchat, the banger racer should offer the near solid car on one or both of the forums, this could then be traded for the rotten one, and vice versa, everyones happy.

One day classic car owners will willingly hand over cars to banger racers and vice versa, one day the banger racers wont race solid classicas and the classic car owners will dispose of their rotten projects in exchange for not-so-far-gone vehicles.

I think a major attitude change is needed here, how would you diecast collectors feel if i bangered something stupidly rare / MIB, even though you had a beater you would have traded?

Maybe one day the racers and classic car people will respect eachother.

With regard to people racing solid classics..

99% of cars raced are true basket cases way beyond the restoration line, and some for me are too far gone to be raced, but do appear on track and make a nice mess...The only solid things on most classic cars is the box section(anyone thinking the steel silver clouds!?)

Yes you do get the odd car that is too clean to be raced, in the same way you get the odd car restored that really was hanging.

Swings and roundabouts really?

Appreciated! Please add them to my heap. I'm hoping to have a chance to sort things out on my end this weekend- I know I have a lot of outstanding trades at the moment. I do have some nice cars set aside for everyone and I think people will like what I've got lined up.

Yes its upto the drivers and other being sensible...but

If you get say an A60 signwritten properly and everything, and another drivers behind it and theyve not seen inside it to see theres nothing left basically, who are they to know its rotten...

From Wasted magazine Spudgun says he raced a westy with flattened oil drums pop riveted together for a floor, and raced it like that...

To me thats too far gone to race?

definitely too far gone. I can't remember who it was at Standlake years ago (could've been keefy) but he roped the entire car together with seatbelts and rope after it got followed in

I disagree mookie - if the driver is well protected, let him race anything, better that than someones pride and joy.

I wasn't saying that it wasn't good to race it, au contraire! Race it by all means as long as you feel safe

and Jordan, it makes no odd's, its up to the driver to be sensible, if you raced you'd no what i mean, you know weather a hit is a senisible 1 or nt has ya about to do it ;) and plus you dont have time to worry when your out there, all you have time to worry about is getting around 1st corner then ya safe :D
