I had a blast at the demo derby last night. I'll have to write up an account of what happened. The biggest surprise was what car finished third overall.

Don't you mean Mr. Morse? He had to change from his Limo to a Granada :(

By limo, I'm assuming it would have been this one, which he raced at the HMC, barely got damaged at all and hasn't raced since:

The only thing I could find closest to a Nissan Bluebird is a Majorette Honda Accord  :

That is quite a good look-a-like, Tomica and CF have both done Blueys, I've got a CF one on the way from JK sooner or later

I think I've got Rog's colour spot on! I also managed to convert it to right-hand drive

The Granny estate is looking good, does the right hand drive conversion involve turning the dashboard upside down??

How are you getting on with the 3 Matchbox Volvos I gave you at Standlake??

This is the CF Bluebird.

When I get new batteries for my camera, I'll take better pictures, but until then:

The Siku dashboard is quite easy to convert as it's separate from the interior, what I did is cut it in half so I had the steering wheel bit and no0 other bit of the dashboard, trimmed it down a bit so it would fit behind the 3 pegs where the whole thing should fit and glued it onto the interior:

As for the volvos, I'm going to be stripping 2 of them soon, I'm yet to decide who to do them as. I might try and create Shelly's special volvo from the beech meet with one or two of them!

Vanguards do loads of great cars such as the MK1 Granada, Rover P5, and Austin Cambridge/Morris Oxford Farinas, but they are too expensive for bangers (well in my case  )

I was of that opinion too, unless you find some at boot sales for 50p each  or get them as gifts

I remember I used to have a Rover P4 but I sold it a while ago

If you don't want to sacrifice a mint Mk1 Granada you could use the 'Hidden Treasures' version

But the Hidden Treasures version is way cooler than the regular one.

Also, the Bluebird pictured above has been converted into a banger, still wearing that horrible shade of red paint. It's not pretty (considering the base is missing the whole front suspension so the front wheels are literally taped to the chassis!) , but it's functional. I got a VW Jetta done too (another former junk car, also that same shade of red).

It looks dull in the photo's but it is actually pretty bright - it's not a spot on match, but it's the closest I could get to it

I am going to base many of my future bangers on cars raced last Sunday, for instance I am doing a Matchbox Rover Sterling (one of the awful child painted bangers :D ) in Keefy colours:

I'm finding it hard to get hold of cars - I've tried charity shops locally, and a boot sale...but nothing.

Any suggestions?
