I think I just managed slip-up of the week, by doing this to a baseplate I was drilling!

Posted Image

The drill slipped off the rivet and shattered the front of the base, luckily the axle is still in there and usable

I few minutes after that I was drilling out a Corgi Juniors Mercedes, the same thing happened and the drill went straight through the suspension bar, snapping it off

Not one of my best days.......

Plastic bases SUCK for drilling out. I've done that to more cars than I care to admit to.

Inspired by Swifty, I am thinking of doing some ramp rollover bangers out of some small hatchbacks, I might even squash the roofs in a bit

Here is a ramp rollover competition:

It was missing one pillar at the front so the roof was slightly crushed, and it had no boot

A bit of persuasion with long nose pliers bent the front up and the back round, but I had to be careful because the metal was ancient and really quite brittle

I got some more banger bait at the bootsales this morning including a large scale Plymouth Fury Fire Cheif car, Ford Escort van and Triumph Acclaim :)

And I got a 1/76 scale Mercedes Bus which will be great as a van banger

First up- the Volvos look perfect for bangering. Planning on making your first start as a driver? Showing up in the P1800 would definitely put the spotlight on you for the meeting.

Alas, poor Mercedes limo, I tried to save you! It'll make a good banger. :D

I've begun the arduous task of crafting some doors for the limo, this is what it looks like at the moment:

BTW, the 'Mental' Austin Cambridge in the background is becoming Mayhem

Here is my 1/42 scale Triang Spot On Austin A60, I bought it a few months back, the last owner has done it up as a banger, they even based it on a real driver!!!

Posted Image

It dates from the 1960s and is worth alot of money in good condition. apparantly.

Posted Image

It could end up as a Mayhem car :D .....

I think the Mercedes should be in Hitmen colours, as Tim 'Spike' Dray has raced a real one:
