The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
It's rare I have a day off in the middle of the week, but I was actually off work today, and able to do something I've always wanted to do.

That's right, I went to karaoke night at a local bar with some friends! I supplied air with "Making Love Out of Nothing At All" and had the crowd whipped up and excited. I totally bombed on Gordon Lightfoot's classic "If You Could Read My Mind" (too slow for karaoke... :( ) and redeemed myself with Starship's "We Built This City". All in all, very fun!

No "Bandstand Boogie" by Barry Manilow?

Believe it or not, that's not one of my favorite Manilow tunes. "Mandy", "Can't Smile Without You", and "Ready To Take A Chance Again" are my personal favorites from Manilow, but all would've suffered the same agonizing mauling that Gordon Lightfoot's classic received. The lesson for today is- if you can't sing, stick to the fast songs and just go crazy. I really wanted to do "Surrender" or "I Want You To Want Me" by Cheap Trick...

Try "My Sharonna" by the Knack next time Swifty. You don't have to have the greatest voice to sing it.

I you are going to do a Lightfoot song go with Sundown as it is a little more upbeat.

Another good one! But not fast enough. In the case of "If You Could Read My Mind" I knew all the words by heart, which is what I was after... ;)

As for "Sundown", I know bits and pieces by heart... Sundown, you better take care if I find you've been creeping round my back stairs...
