I've recently tried to make 3 trades with members of another site, after they listed what they had to trade. Two of these are local people (within 30 miles) so I don't know if this rant is about locals or another site. Anyway after contact to let them know what I'm interested in, they ask for a trade list. After typing the list for 20 mins. (I'm not real good at the typing thing) and sending it to them, they never get back to me. Isn't there some sort of common courtesy to communicate your intentions, or is it Ok in the computer age to be rude and just blow someone off rather than telling them no thanks? Sorry for the rant, this has really been bothering me for the past few days.

Probably more of it being a local thing... I think people get complacent and think 'well, I'll be seeing him again soon' and then forget about it. This is why I tend to just buy instead of trade, if I can help it. |

People should always answer back...I find it tough to tell someone that the item is out of my budget or that I don't need anything they offer...But I always make a point of giving an answer.... Courtesy and respect.... Sorry to hear about your bad experience..... |

i know where you are coming from except mine is usually on the flip side. i have it happen a lot where people are interested in something i have, they email me 10 times within two days about it, i reply asking for a trade list of what they have available and hardly ever get a response back from them. sometimes i am guilty of taking a few days to get back to someone but i always get back to them. there was one exception where i accidentally deleted all of my pm's and didn't remember all of the names of everyone i had been dealing with. to make it easier for you rick, i have my trade list saved in a notepad file and just copy and paste in into an email when offering a list but i still get disgruntled when people don't reply.

I had a person e-mail the shipping cost of the cars that he was selling. I e-mailed him back asking for his addy about 20 minutes after I received his e-mail. He replied that he sold that the cars just awhile ago. Pretty impatient I think!
