Over the weekend I saw a few cars I haven't seen in years:

Chevy Chevette
Dodge Dart sedan
Dodge Aspen or Plymouth Volare sedan

The Dart was in a driveway, the Chevette was parked on a major road, and the Volare/Aspen pulled into a gas station.

Has anyone else recently seen cars that used to be common, but are now almost extinct on the roads? Demolition derbies and monster truck rallies don't count. ;)

Ramblin' on my mind
I saw a gigantic old 70s Torino and a Cobra in South Africa about a year ago. We were staying next to a particularly scenic stretch of costal road - it must have been a favourite for drivers.

I have to say, for a country with a collapsing economy they do a mighty fine job of hiding it behind their cars.

Crikey! Impressive garage! Plus, you've jogged my memory - there is a house in North (read "posh") Oxford with a DB9 outside it. They're very low slung those cars.

I've also seen an Eldorado and an acient Impala in passing here in Oxford.

At Standlake arena on Sunday there were many interesting non bangers in the car park including a 1978 Toyota Crown, MG Magnette Farina, MK3 Cortina, MK5 Cortina, and I stood next to a dark blue Jaguar MK10, it looked good from a distance but it had been poorly resprayed and some rust bubbles were coming through the paint :(

They were all owned by banger drivers or owners with banger connections- Yes they do like classics!!!

I usually go to my local Pool/Snooker Hall with some friends 2/3 times a week, and on the way we always walk past a Morris Minor Estate, it's fairly decent, I'll get a picture when I get a chance ;)

Today I saw (within five minutes of each other) a '64 cream colored Buick Riviera (passed me going the other way), '69 Chevelle (yellow with white stripes- it didn't look like factory paint) parked at the mall, and a '79 Pinto wagon (also bright yellow) parked in front of a house.

Today's sightings:

'73 Dodge Charger
'70 Dodge Dart (340? had a hoodscoop...was in the Burger King parking lot so I didn't see much of it as I passed it).
Two Pontiac Fieros- one from each generation. Only reason I mention these is the first generation Fiero had a Classic car plate on it.
Ford Fairmont Futura coupe

'70-72 Chevelle
'69 Mustang coupe

And one that I normally see parked in Annville:
