This local jerk in a white Chevy Corsica keeeps challenging to race. Last night he cut me off and slowed down, and passed me again in a turn lane through a red light in a construction zone. Today he came wailing down my street and slid to a stop and did a burnout infront of my house. Last time I was down in Kansas some jerk in a Corsica got the bright idea to tailgate me when I was already doing 5-10 over, so I laid on the brakes a bit hoping he'd back off. Nope, he got even closer. I moved into the left lane thinking he'd blow right by me, but no he moved into the left lane as well. I pulled into a parking lot and turned around. The moron stayed behind me until I got back onto the road and then he passed me while I was turning. I caught up to him at a red light, and right as I pulled up, he peeled out and then braked hard and moved over right as I was coming closer behind him. Real good there, pal. I remember earlier this summer, when me and Allie were going to the Chevy dealer he was tailgating us all the way down Iowa street, and somehow decided it would be fun to tailgate us through a yellow light. We ended up hitting 50 or 60 on a street with a 35 MPH speed limit before he backed off. Moron. and latest incident the inconsiderate fellow in the Corsica forced me into oncoming traffic this weekend. I turned out of a gas station parking lot, and was going to get over to turn right, and when I put my signal on, he flew around me and stayed side by side with me. I braked somewhat hard, and he did the same. I got fed up, and I floored it and started tailgating him. I think he got scared, cuz he floored it, and took off like a bat outta heck. Oh well. and a local minitruck idiot (*edited a bit*) One thing that irritates me, though, is that my car isn't the fastest thing on the road, and I get these jerks in Mustang GTs and such tailgating me. Once, I had some moron in a Blazer Xtreme (with a nice banner that reminded me so) tailgating me, and the driver was using the airride to hop whilst driving thinking that would encourage me to speed up. Mind you we were going uphill, and there was a stop light up ahead. When the light turned green, I kinda mashed it, to let the driver know they were being obnoxious, so what they do? He flys around me, coming down the hill with the backend dragging throwing sparks. Nice job spraying my field of vision with sparks. Although I can't complain too much about my ladyfreind, now can I? She is an awesome girl, BUT she does have a tendency to show off a bit, and yeah this is one of those times. Sadly, the Blazer was destroyed this morning in an act of vandalism, and since the damage is about 1/3 of retail value, the vehicle is getting totaled we think. |

Scary stuff - I can remember my dad was could have been killed in a car accident in about 1998, if it wasn't for his lightning fast reactions He was driving down a poorly lit country road in the winter at about 8 in the evening, something like that, when, ahead of him he heard an ENORMOUS bang, and slowly he saw this car literally somersaulting down the road TOWARDS his car. Luckily he had fast reflexes, as the somersaulting car hit the ground in front of my dad's car. He swerved and put the car in a ditch, as the somersaulting car flew over his cars roof, to land upside down in a hedge Slowly he backed out of the ditch, and illuminated by his headlights in front of him was the remains of a Metro, embedded in a tree. Incredibly no one had any serious injuries. It turned out the the car which landed in the hedge was on the wrong side of the road, it hit the Metro head on at about 40MPH, catapulting it backwards into a roll. The Metro, from the force of the impact flew back into a tree, reducing it's size to about half what it was to begin with That's my story..... |

holy crap. That's awful. I'm glad no one was hurt. That's nuts. Were the people in the car that hit the Metro (Rover I'm assuming) okay? |

Ramblin' on my mind
|
I cycle everywhere, so, living in Oxford, I'm almost killed by busses on a regular basis. But there are no real standout incidents. A friend of mine however... - I know a guy who was driving down the motorway happy as larry when out of nowhere, a supermini of sorts swoops down in midflight and plants itself in the back of his car. And I mention flying for good reason, this thing came out of the sky and landed on him. If someone (i.e: his son) had been sitting in the back, they would have been killed. - A friend was walking back from a night out when a Vauxhall Astra (Opel Kadett) screamed past him, hit a roundabout, flipped and smashed into a verge. The driver climbed out of his totally wrecked, upside down car and pegged it. It sure is a crazy world.

Yeah, our city really isn't very cycle-friendly The Vauxhall was probably stolen, that's why the guy legged it I can remember, when I was very young (probably about 5) we were driving on the motorway and I can remember looking out the back of our car to see a car spin itself round and plant itself into the barrier

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!

Yeah, I saw the same thing about five years ago in New Jersey. We were driving on the freeway, and I looked to my side and saw this Oldsmobile spin out on the on-ramp and back into a light pole (knocking it down). It was during a very light snowfall, but still... |
