Does the diecast have to be made before 1970 eg a Matchbox regular wheel Ford Zodiac, or can it be any model of a pre 70 car eg a modern Hotwheels 64 Impala??  |

What year is the London Taxi? I have to finish re-doing the one I was going to enter in Comp #2, and I could use it for Comp #4 if the year is old enough. If not, I'll find something else. |

I think the original is old enough to qualify, and as such even more recent versions are allowed in. That's my understanding of the rules... Example: A Checker Marathon is made from the early '60s through 1982 with minor alterations (bigger bumpers, trim). An '82 example could be used at a pre-'70 because the body style never changed. |

The recent one made by Matchbox is a late 80s one at least, and they have Nissan diesel engines fitted, so no
Rules of most pre 70s: All cars MUST be made before certain deadline year and MUST be run on its original engine or similar..... I'm sure it will be easy to get a pre 70 yank from Hotwheels or JL though

I think normal rules for pre-70's that I know of are no Daimler DS420's because they were made right up to the 1990's, Jag XJ's or Mk.1 Granadas because thay are too fast/strong. Other than that anything goes! |

I just picked up a second donor car for mine. I had somehow managed to lose the base and interior to the first one... |
