I've had a couple of inquiries to show a few of my 69 Impalas, so here are a few that are currently readily accessible to me now at my desk. Nothing too wild, as I like to keep them stock looking. Some are modified, some aren't.

Nice collection of Impalas! I almost bought a few when TRU had them before Christmas for a buck each, but left them hanging. I don't really need to start collecting another specific model, to many of them now. I should have bought them though as I'd like to do a blue and a black one as a Spoiler.

:P Nice collectio Aqua..I've never seen those in the wild yet, but if I ever get my hands on one (convertable version) it will become a '69 Impala/Caprice StationWagon.

Future project for sure.

JL did this casting very well and all of the versions out so far have been sharp! Hope to see more top down variations.
Why do you suppose RC2 detailed the undercarriages of the Impalas from the Chevy High Performance series like in the Gold Series?? Nice little bonus! B)

I  love David's collection of '69 Impy's

This is one JL casting that I do like.
I've had a lot of fun with it.

This one is easy to figure out.

Posted Image
The baseplates from the bottoms of some customs.
I drill out the rivets to remove the baseplates and use sheet metal screws to re-attach the baseplates to the castings.

Posted Image
My '69 Chevy Impala convertible collection with top up and top down versions.
Many of the castings above are customs that I made including switching interiors.

Posted Image
There are also a couple of top up versions that I painted the tops flat black to see how the castings would look.

These are the original castings as issued.

Thanks Aqua XK8 for starting this topic.
Seeing that you did such a good job at the start, I thought that I would add a little bit to the discussion.
I hope that you don't mind.
It's not often that we discuss or show images of this wonderful JL casting.

Cheers. Cobra

I haven't got a '69 Impala, but it looks like such a nice casting, I'll be adding one to my JL shopping list. B)

Nice custom work! These two pictures in particular remind me of what the factory lot must have looked like back in 1969 as these cars rolled off the assembly line!
