About a year ago I decided to put together a collection of the American Glory cars from JL. It all started when I bought the 1969 Ford Torino Talladega American Glory from Street Freaks, Release 15. To this day, it is one of my favorite AG cars; the pearl white finish is gorgeous (this is a regular JL). My quest has been a lot of fun and I have had much help from other collectors. My collection has grown to around 75 regular JLs along with a handful of WL versions, thanks to the kindness of some collectors. With Memorial Day nearing, I set out to compile a comprehensive listing of American Glory and red, white and blue Johnny Lightnings as a reference guide for anyone wishing to build such a collection. This list includes multiple versions of the same model. I am not a completist so I don't have every one of these and I don't have any of the gold Postal trucks simply because I don't like them! In fact, I have only 3 of the white Postal trucks just to have a representation of that series release. This listing includes casting number and series number where available. American Glory Series 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona #491 American Glory, R1 333-21 1954 Chevrolet Corvette Corvair #845 American Glory, R1 333-21 1971 Plymouth Road Runner #487 American Glory, R1 333-21 1959 Cadillac Eldorado convertible #145 American Glory, R1 333-21 1974 AMC Hornet #013 American Glory, R1 333-21 Abrams M1A1 Battle Tank #066 American Glory, R1 333-21 Street Freaks American Glory 1955 Lincoln Futura #005 Street Freaks, R3 375-07 1941 Willys Pickup #441 Street Freaks, R4 375-08 1966 Buick GS 340 #196 Street Freaks, R5 375-09 1970 Ford Torino GT #230 Street Freaks, R7 375-11 1968 Plymouth Barracuda #260 Street Freaks, R7 375-11 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado #851 Street Freaks, R7 375-11 2003 General Hummer H2 #006 Street Freaks, R8 375-12 1967 Ford Fairlane GT #200 Street Freaks, R6 375-10 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS454 #195 Street Freaks, R9 375-13 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS convertible #265 Street Freaks, R10 375-14 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible #241 Street Freaks, R11 375-15 1955 Chevrolet Nomad #242 Street Freaks, R14 503-01 1969 Ford Torino Talladega #262 Street Freaks, R15 50301B 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air #213 Street Freaks, R16 50301C 1965 Jeep CJ-5 #618 Street Freaks, R17 50301D 1965 Shelby Cobra Daytona #853 Street Freaks, R18 50301E 1955 Chevrolet 2-door Sedan #848 Street Freaks, R19 50301F 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 #925 Street Freaks, R20 50301G 1923 Ford T-Bucket #562 Street Freaks, R21 50301H 1973 Pontiac Grand Am #858 Street Freaks, R23 50301J Non - Hey Mark, that's quite an impressive list. I have pictures of your RWB collection from when you displayed them in your garage, and I check it periodically to see if I've found something you don't have. I don't think anyone else has a collection like that, thats so complete. Nice collection. BTW, didn't Swifty arrange all those cars into a big USA ? |

Yup! I was in charge of the decorating, and that seemed appropriate. ![]() And I must concur, that's an awesome list! |

Great list, Mark! I'm going to have to stop over and check it out again - haven't seen it since the CT Cruise night at your place! |

Thanks Mike. My AG/RWB collection has grown since my gathering last October. At this point, the only RWB JL I'm looking for is the Liberty Promotions '69 Camaro. You are certainly welcome to come over and check out the collection - there might even be a cold frosty one for you, too!

Thanks for posting those pics, David. Don't forget, not only did Swifty arrange the cars in the "U S A" pattern, each letter represents one of the "Big Three" auto makers (Willys, Studebaker and AMC were put under Daimler-Chrysler). That gathering was a lot of fun. I'm going to have to think about a new theme for this year's event. |

How about a big BWF so you can show off all your black with flame cars? I thought about doing that with all mine, maybe I still will, donno. |

That is a theme I have considered. My JL BWF collection has grown to the point where I have membership in the (BWF NON-Committee). I also have a number of non-JL BWFs to add to the show.... Goodness knows I can provide BWF hot dogs!!!
