"The Cars Of Jay Leno"

A few existing castings could be used, and there are some nice possibilities for new castings too.

Think they would sell?

they should put them in 5 pack or 10 pack sets. I think they would sell, I know I'd want one!

Great idea. I'd buy them for sure.
But in reality, the chance of them making those are a (exhaust)pipe dream.

has any company done a Leno set? I know Hot Wheels did a four pack of Reggie Jackson's cars. And supposedly, the CCM Country Club Muscle is inspired by Leno's toronado. I think this would be a great idea for JL.

Didn't Hot Wheels also do a Jay Leno 2 car set with an AC Cobra and a Mustang (I believe)? I know I saw them at FAO Schwartz, but I didn't buy it.

They also had the Miura in a single box- I grabbed one on clearance at KB a long time ago. Still, a JL series of six cars would be interesting. Too bad the SHOGUN has no chance...

That's quite a variety of cars. Not just old classics, or just muscle cars or imports, but a whole hodge podge of cars. And the cool part is that Jay knows some history about each one.

very impressive collection he has! With 80 cars, JL could do 20 releases of four in each, which means the series could run for a few years. For some reason I thought Jay was one of only 10 people to own a Dodge Tomahawk, but I don't see that on the list of his motorcycles

You know what type of series I really would like from JL? Not sure if it would be popular enough with everyone else to be worth while though. I'd like to see a line of off road trucks. Just take all the truck castings already in existence, and put a big suspension lift on them, and add oversized, but realistic tires & wheels. Sort of like they did the 1/55 scale JL Full Throttle rock rigs, but with better tires. They could do 2001 Dodge Ram 1500, '66 Ford Bronco, '65 Chevy pickup, hummer H2, '69 Chevy Blazer, '50 Ford F100, and the 1978 Dodge midnight express casting. These are just a few truck castings I'd like to see them use for this, there's many more, and could even introduce new truck castings in this series. Imports like Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan would be nice. Also there SUVs and vans they could use. I love trucks, and I like the stock ones they've done already, but it would be great if they did an off-road line.

Thanks for the link to the list, Sean. I agree, it's amazing the variety of cars in that collection ... a 1970 Mazda Cosmo???? Not all ultra sexy hi dollar terrors, he's got some ordinary cars in that group!

With all of his money, I wonder how he decides what he's going to buy next???? :D

I'd like to see some lifted trucks in the JL line too.

Rich, there's nothing ordinary about the '70 Mazda Cosmo. Then again, there's nothing ordinary about Jay's Ford Festiva, either. ;) He does have some more ordinary cars sprinkled through the Lamborghinis and Bugattis though. And I'm glad to see cars like the Hudson Hornet and Ford Galaxie in there.

This explains the "why" a bit more:

"Talk show host Jay Leno owns what is believed to be the only remaining Series II Cosmo in the United States, a 1970 model featured on the Speed Channel series My Classic Car in March, 2006."

hmmm.... also interesting that he owns a few Lambroghinis, but not a single Ferarri. I wonder if he doesn't like Ferarris for some reason???

I also notice that he has no VWs. There are some very rare models of VW that would fit in very well with his collection.

What I like about Jay Leno is that he's not guided by what Conventionality dictates...he gets what he likes. Must be nice being him.

He seems to make it a point to mention things like 'just like Lamborghini, Monteverdi started with an argument with Enzo Ferrari...' I'm guessing he's not a big fan of them.

Speaking of Ferraris, have you seen the res 328 around here? I've seen it twice in the last few days.
