I feel your pain Swifty. The repairs haven't been started on my house as of yet. My house got struck by lightning June 8. It's been over 5 weeks! I received the check from the insurance company last week. The repair cost was alot more than I thought it would be! I hope repairs can be started for both of us this week.

Ouch! I feel your pain too. On my side, the insurance company has been a delight to work with. How often do you hear that?!?

Not very often Swifty. I'm still waiting for repairs to be started on my house. I hope tomorrow is my day!

I can't sleep. The company that is going to repair my house was suppose to call me the day before they came. I never got a call yesterday. I'm getting impatient now. They have to set up the scaffling before they start to do anything.

Hope you get your car back today Swifty.

Yet again, my hopes have been dashed. Still got the Passat. Filled the tank with it. Yes, I've had it so long now that I've had to get gas for it. :(

I'm not having any better luck Swifty. The repair company didn't come yesterday, and it's raining very hard here right now. :( Maybe tomorrow or the next day.

What do garages or repair companies care? They're getting paid by the insurance companies no matter what, so what's their motivation to do the job swiftly?

Same here. :(

After 18 days of driving superior German engineering, I don't think I could go back to an inferior American made automobile.*

*And that's a joke folks. I miss my 'Stang badly!

The company that is going to repair my house called yesterday and said that they would be at my house to set up the scaffling on Monday 7-23-07, weather permitting. I HOPE!

Any luck with your Mustang Swifty?

Swifty, Hope that you're back in your ride soon. The Vibe got bumped this week in rush hour traffic on Rt. 422. Thankfully no injuries and no damage.

I got hit on Rt 422 too. 422 is evidently evil to PMCC members!

Well, I got it back today. Hold the celebrations...

They messed it up. The bumper is on crooked, and now there's a glitch in the electrical system too. I'm going to have to take it back.

The question is, do I get a Mustang GT...

...or the cheapest thing thing on the lot? I'm sick of car payments and I really wouldn't mind having 'disposable income' again. If I got the GT, I'd have to start over with car payments from scratch, as I'd only break even on the trade in on the current Stang (if I'm lucky).

One thing for sure- I don't want this car any more. Its not the same, and the whole reason I got it was because I was sick of driving other people's used junk. The Talon was killing me with repair bills. I can already see this one's going to go down the same road, which is a shame because up until it was hit it didn't give me a single problem.

get a GT!
2 more cylinders and 90 more horses.... if your stang made you happy, imagine a GT. :D Especially if you get a stick, that just adds to the fun factor.

Best wishes with your decision Swifty. Like I said previously, I got rear ended many years ago. It was a more damage than your Mustang received. I was off work for 5 weeks. The car was NEVER the same. I eventually sold the car, but hated to part with it. It's a hard decision to make. Thank god you werent injured.

Well, the company that is going to repair my house finally showed up yesterday (Monday 7/24/07) to set things up. They were suppose to be back today to bring more materials, but haven't come as of yet (it's 12:10 P.M.). Rain is a possibility almost every day where I live, but it has rained here yet. I'm beginning to loose my patience!

Just an update. The company that is repairing my house brought the materials late afternoon yesterday. Today they showed up at 7:30 A.M. and repaired my chimney. They brought 400 bricks yesterday and didn't need half of them to repair the chimney. I wonder if the repair cost will be less, since they used less materials. I've got 200+ bricks in my driveway and a BIG pile of sand that was left over, not to mention other things that they brought. I wonder if they will start to repair my roof, porch roof, and gutters tomorrow! The repair cost is much higher than I thought it would be!

How are you making out with your Mustang Swifty?

This is going to be a "Repair Race" Swifty. What will get repaired first, the Mustang, or the house? The repair company came this morning to take the 200+ brick, BIG pile of sand, and other materials out of my driveway. The chimney is the only thing that got repaired so far. The roof, porch roof, and upper and lower gutters need to be fixed, along with a few other things. Looks like next week at the earliest. :(

Well, nothing else can be done for it. So the bumper will be a tad out of whack until the day I trade it in, which will be soon I hope.
