Hey fellow Garage members! Let us post our favorite moments of Johnny Jam 07 for the rest of the board!

It would be hard to sum up what my favorite moment was. The whole event was a blast! From the $1.00 JL cars to the auction for Makenzie to the gravity races to the after hours party!

It was really cool to meet a lot of new faces and to get re-aquainted with old friends! I tried to talk to everybody that I could.

I will post some of my cool items that I came home with a bit later. For now, I will let you drool over this...

Nick, it was great to see you and the rest of the gang again! I glad you got one of those awesome Camaros. The JJam crew certainly appreciates all your hard work on the logos the past two years, and I was glad we used one of yours this year.

Folks, it was an awesome time. Despite some rain Friday night, it held off during the day, and it was hot, humid, and mostly sunny. Making new friends and seeing friends from last year was awesome. The food and hospitality provided by Dave, Jan, and the rest of his family was outstanding. Nobody left hungry, or empty handed thanks to all the prizes and goodie bags.

Rich, Dave, Mark, Rob, and myself were thrilled that so many people were able to come and share the day. Plenty of great stories, trades, gravity racing, and FOOD!

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
I had so much fun, and I have so many people to thank for their generosity!

But before I do so, I need to ask everyone a favor. I misplaced at least two cars- the loose WL I won in the auction, and the customized Mercury Cougar Villager wagon that was done by Lummox (if anyone comes across a green wagon with the back half of the roof chopped off, and the windows 'smashed'...that's it). I had both at the same time, and I must have set them down somewhere. If anyone comes across them, please let me know!

Anyway, I know if I start individually naming acts of kindness and generosity I am bound to forget someone, so I want to say thank you to everyone. Especially to Johnny Jam's host and hostess, the JJ planning committee, and my carpool (who had to suffer with sitting in a car, with me, for about eight hours each way).

Things I remember (some of which that just prove I'm insane):

- stole the whipped cream away from Mark and Rich to polish it off after Rich came after him for pieing him. Hey, I hadn't eaten yet and I never let good whipped cream go to waste!

- volunteered to put together the goody bags the morning of the show

- barely sleeping Friday night due to the anticipation of Jam

- YATMING!!!!!!!!!!!! I never thought I'd get to meet a representative of my favorite diecast company. A very pleasant surprise! Making things even better was that he was very interested in what we all had to say, too. They've got some great things coming, in addition to an already awesome back catalog!

Thanks to the PA crew for making the trek yet again!

This year's Jam was unbelievable. Just too many people to talk with, too many things going on to see what everyone had on their tables.

I was happy that the Lincoln (RI) Johnny Lightning Race Club was such a big hit with their "Gravity Racing", thanks for all the fun, guys.

Jan and Dave were phenomenal hosts, I don't know how we can ever thank her for all the hard work she puts out for Jam.

Thanks to the many, many companies that kicked in with Door Prizes. Speaking of which, how cool was it that the US rep for Yat Ming lives 10 mins. away from Jam and brought tons and tons of goodies for the gang? It's unfortunate that he had a really cool presentation for all the Jammers on just how a car goes from photo to your local toy shelf, but was unable to give it as his time was taken up elsewhere.... maybe next year, John.

The spirit of Jam is sharing, and people were trading cars left and right, and even better, there were some really cool trades involving Door Prizes; personally, that's my favorite part of Jam, that and all the RAOK's!

People dug deep to help out GTOKen's daughter Mackenzie, both with donations, and with a really fun auction that raised more than any of us thought it would. Thanks to medic1076 for the huge diecast donation that got this started, and the many folks who added to the pot as the auction proceeded. Thanks also to Viper Dave, Quantum, and Midtown Matt (and you each know why!).

Kirk Esklid (Dale Fan) showed up and was an absolute pleasure to meet. He's had some bad experiences with some "over-zealous" members of other boards in the past, and was hesitant to come to Jam; but I assured him this was a fun group of people, and he said after that he was so glad he came (and he added so much to the fun!).

Rick, your son Brett was an absolute joy to have around. You're a great dad for looking over him so much, but you needn't worry; he's a great kid. And it's cool to know that a kid his age appreciates the cars for what they are. I know they'll have a good home with him.

Nick, those RAOK cars you and the crew brought up are a treasured part of Jam lore; thanks for getting that ball rolling and thanks to Rick and Sean as well.

As always, the best part of Jam is the part that too many people miss; the "after" party. This has become a Jam "tradition" and my favorite part of the whole day; sitting around with a cool beverage, swapping stories with so many great people, as Jan trucks out yet another round of great food. And her well-timed Air Supply shot at Swifty - er "Spanky" - was priceless.

Thanks to all who attended, and for all that each of you brought to the table this year.

Not to toot our own horns, but Dave, Bill, Rob, Mark, and myself do this for you guys; without you, there is no Jam. If you haven't made it to one yet and you're within driving distance, please, PLEASE, make plans to come next year; you won't regret it.

I have so many memories of Jam that I could go on and on, but some of the best memories are the "staff meetings" before Jam; the fun I had with Mark, Dave, Rob, and Bill as we met throughout the year and tried to turn this bunch of amateurs into an actual Planning Committee. So many laughs were shared over the past year, so many great moments.

And now, we get to do it all over again!
