Had to make a trip out of province last week and while I was in the big city of Halifax took the opportunity to hunt for some diescast. Found 2 amazing Motormax products and they were at most of the Wally's I went to. 1. an 81 Horizon, white in color, in a 5x2x3 plastic case with a diorama with it, called "My Garage" dio has wheel ramps, oil drip pan, jack stands, tool boxes, sink, spare tires, pinups, other tampos, 2.a 79 LeBaron Town and Country Wagon, that came in a dio called Country Genral Store, ice cooler, gas pumps, pop machinie spare tires, nice decals, I will try to post pics of it when I find the camera (lost again) Motormax has come out with some really nice castings these last 2 or so years. for a couple of bucks I think they are the best detail, and value for the money. The fresh cherries line is awesome and with them casting cars that few other guys have even touched makes it all that much better. Can you tell that I am a fan! Nicne work Motormax, keep them coming

I can't believe that Canada walmart's got something that you guys in the states didn't. Found the camera last night up stairs under some Christmas decorations. thats terrible, we haven't put them away yet. Actually I packed all the Christmas decs up this afternoon. that the latest I have ever done that. There were no indication on the box on what other cars and sets are available or coming, the case at Wall'y which was still there, only had the Store and the garage. I checked every one in it, to make sure I got all the different sets. Everything in the dio is glued down though thats the biggest complaint I have. (except the cars, they are tied down, nothing a pair of wire cutters didn't fix) Took some pics and will download or upload them tomorrow when I get up after working all night tonite. I am such a procrastinator.

Glued or not, I'm sure that can be fixed. I know when I get my hands on those dioramas the pieces are being removed, no matter what it takes to free them.

Heh, yep. They'd have been up hours ago but tonight has kicked my butt. It's past 8:00AM and I'm still up! Just winding things down. And check out the new AutoFest forum on the main page. We'll have one stop for everything 'Fest this year! The 'Fest dio mockup is posted there.

I've seen these on other boards, and have to wonder what all the fuss is about? Too "fixed" in place; items should have been removable. They blew it on these, but I hope they change the next series (if there is one). |

To meet child safety issues all the pieces had to be fixed or secured in place. That should be no shock. Another reason is, if they were not and simply secured in a baggie of sorts for you to display as fit, means the product would not have looked as attractive on the shelf and look incomplete and these pieces would get stolen or returned without them. These are not secured with titanium rods and industrial adhesives so let's lighten up a little. I think people were also excited because the scale attention was better than other attempts and while not perfect, at least attempts 3D rather than the gingerbread cookie look. Take it for what it is worth but there will be more than these two options. Two more are on the seas and I know for a fact someone who is doing mock-ups for two more. The first is beach related. |

I kind of dig the diorama and totally understand the reason that the pieces are not all individual pieces. I have a 3 year old and know how much of a pain it is when she gets a Polly Pocket set. This would be the closest relationship I would compare to a diorama like this. They are individually packed but not situated in a diorama setup .They are in a blister clam shell sorted in order and taped up to keep them in place. I think Motor Max is doing a cool thing here and can't wait to see what else they have planned. Maybe they can make a few parts mobile like what JL is doing with their diorama series but I don't think that all the wrenches in a garage diorama needs to be separate from the diorama. The car is removeable, right? That is the onlt important thing that should be removeable in my opinion. (Then I can put JL's in ant take pics. )

Cars are just tied down with wire ties, your are left with holes in your dio though, but any car covers them up. Also it is very easy to break the adhesive, I relocated my pumps to the front of the dio, to make it more realistic as pumps are never that close to a building or vereanda.
