As I'm sure some of you are aware, I'm finishing up the final chapter in the current Diecast City story, and have plans for a future story featuring a gang called the Street Freaks. I will tell you this much about the next story, which is currently in it's plotting stage. It involves a gang called the Street Freaks, who eventualy had a falling out with a number of members. The members who left the Freaks formed a second gang, the Black With Flames Committee. These gangs have co-existed for some time. But suddenly, the gang members begin getting picked off, each gang blaming the other. In looking for motives, Sgt. Friday quickly learns that in Diecast City, it is always about the cars. And Friday and his partner find themself going head to head with a third element enfringing upon their turf, an unyeilding element who wants "A Piece of the Action." But why is a high profile gangster like the Green Hornet interested in these particular cars? This story will be written at odd times between now and next fall, completing the new story before I start posting chapters. I really don't want life to intrude and leave people hanging like this last story did. And since it is really quite a bit of work to keep up with these stories on a regular basis, I have elected to do one multi-part serial per year, beginning each fall around October--which was the month these stories first started up. I need six or seven members for the Street Freaks story line, who will be a part of the Street freaks gang (the BWF Committee has already been chosen from the committee's actual members). The roles will be assigned either on a first come, first serve basis--depending on who posts first--or if it turns out that I get a lot of interested people (since this post and future story will be posted on Hobby Talk as well), I will them place names into a hat and draw members randomly. After members are chosen I will post pics of cars that the recipients can choose from to drive in the series. Thanks, Robert |

I had thought of you earlier, since I may need one more member of the BWF gang. Question is, do you have most or all of the BWF cars? If not, you'll have to be a pledge and maybe even wear a pledge pin or your uneeform Actually, I'm getting quite a few interested people between here and HT, so I'll take a look at these threads and choose up folks on Monday. Any leftover people will be worked into other roles as the story goes on...maybe like that soda shop owner...or even owner of the Bolt Diner

And all that's keeping me from winning a Grammy is Frank Sinatra's voice
Good luck with that Mustang, it's one of the toughest BWFs to find, right below the '70 Camaro kit. I have Jackofall and his kindness to thank for mine.

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
|
Well, if I'm not mistaken the ADDWC Mustang is limited to 96 pieces total, hence making it almost impossible to find. |

Chances of someone passing along ownership are very, very slim. Dave Antonelli had one in his collection, and when I saw that, I told him how rare (and desirable!) that car was to BWF lovers. He, of course, immediately tried to give it to me (that's Dave for you!) but I told him I already had one, though I knew Dads Coronet did not. But there aren't that many of the 96 out there who have one and don't realize how rare a BWF this really is. I bought two different pairs of Charity Mustangs hoping to get a golden ticket, and got "skunked" on both. I have only the generosity of jackofall to thank for a first class RAOK of my piece. At this point, I don't know how anyone is going to manage to finish their BWF collection by finding one of these. Big $$$ is probably the only way to pry one out of an owner's hands.

To me, the kicker about the ADDWC Mustang is that it is simply a Cool Collectibles BWF Mustang with tampos. Before Dave gave me mine, I rationalized it as such and was fine with not having it in my collection. Of course, now that I do have one, it can't be pryed from my hands.

Everyone who posted on this thread (and the one at HT) is going to have a part in the up and coming storyline. I've got 17 people...not all of which will end up Freaks, but there are always little roles to be filled in these things. Last time i think I ended up asking for more people to fill them, this time, I'm pretty sure i won't have to do that

Okay, here's the way the cast is lining up so far: Street Freaks (active members) Zinger Freak Kadman Jedimario zeb41 Mudslinger Camarors Cal (Unfortunatly, after the drawing for active members, I had to throw these names back in the hat and pick the lucky member who gets to play the body in this little murder mystery. The lucky member now has a star next to his name on my sheet of characters :() Street Freaks (non-active) MissouriMike Swifty Triple20 Pocketwocket Lpgeoteacher viperdave Quantum (You guys were members before the group split in two to form the BWF Committee. A couple of you might still have your Freaks cars, but most were forced to give up their cars when they resigned membership. Now those once prized cars belong to newer members. Do I smell a motive for murder?) Black with Flames Committee 70XR7 computer guy Carnut CenterShock Ecchopper Dadscoronet Roadwarrior Other members of the cast Dalefan (owner of the Bolt Diner) Acererak Montegogt (Who are yet to be determined as the story unfolds) I am clearing out my PM box, and I would like everyone on this list to pease PM with answers to the following: How do you see yourself as a character? A) A nice guy who is a part time rebel B ) Mean and nasty when you have to be, but not a hard core bad guy C) Bad to the bone, capable of anything Tell me what your HT handle means, along with your real name...if you want it used in the story. Is there anything about yourself that would lend to making your character funny, interesting, or in some way unique? (All answer to these questions are subject to plotting needs. For example, if everyone says they want to be bad to the bone, I'll need to make some characters different to give the story and cast some variety.) That's about it for now, until I get the story farther along. I can't post pics of cars to choose from right now due to being short a few cars. And this is where my feeble collection comes into play--in digging through my boxes, I only found four non-BWF Street Freaks and one Zinger...UGH! Thought I actually had more, it's kinda embarrassing, actually. So, until I can track down a few more of these, I'll just have to keep plugging away on the general plot. More later

Update to characters below. Montegogt has been upgraded to ex-mamber of the Freaks, while Swifty is no longer an ex-Freak. Swifty owns Swifty's Garage. Acereak is a worker at the garage, where both he and Swifty have an association with the Freaks, having worked on their cars regularly.

Well it just says he worked on their rides, but not exclusively,so he could work on the BWF rides, but would require very close supervision,or we start our own Garage,we already have a wrecker or two

Very cool display, Brad! That almost looks like a spice rack? If there is a third tier, I could add my '32 Deuce COE, my BWF Zinger Tow Truck, and my Big John's BWF Escalade and Trailer! |

Nice display As far the BWF Garage, I'm thinking Swifty worked on everyone's cars while they were all a unified Freaks gang. Some people would still be loyal to Swifty, since he knows the cars, while others...such as yourself, Rich, may feel they want another mechanic. Acererak, Swifty's right hand man, may be moonlighting on his own for some of the Committe members. Of course, all this has to cause tention on every level...which is exactly what I want. BTW, is anyone here interested in playing smaller roles as some of the regular police officers in Diecast City. You'll get to drive a squad car and be involved in some chase scenes. Let me know. |
