Maisto collectors note--EGG cars for Easter; Back again for 2008, some new colors

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
Walmarts where I live has gotten the Maisto Easter Egg packed cars for $1 each. Not a bad deal, as I think I've found some new colors plus the egg can be used for something else such as filling with candy or a small gift. :)
There are two trays of different cars, 16 or so per tray. These may be displayed on endcaps, not the regular shelves.
Here's a few and how they look.

Charger is a new color to me, and what's the pickup in the egg? Is that the '48 Ford F-1 or a new casting?

Looks like I'll be on the lookout for these cars.

I think I have all three of those fom last year.

Sean, I know i have an extra of the orange charger somewhere in my boxes if you want one. Also have an extra of it in blue.

Funny thing about that old truck, I got it last year in an egg. when I got home it looked like a piece of the rear bumper was broken off and missing. So I went and bought another one, and when I opened it, same thing. Then I one day find the same truck in a different color in the "2 for $1" window box assortments at Dollar General. Open it up, same thing. I wonder if there's a defect in the mold? It definately looks like something is supposed to be there.

Read what Jeff said and I just popped the '48 Ford F-150 from the egg ("egg collectors" don't read this) and looked over the rear. It appears that the left side formed metal is the license plate area with tailight over it, while the left side has nothing, which may have been correct for the time period. I don't think they had a dual tailight "requirement" until later, maybe the fifties. Anyone know?

Nice casting, just needs a good set of shoes and a detailed paint job, etc. :)

I believe that's correct about these trucks only having one taillight when new.
