Round 2/AutoWorld went public with their new licensing agreement with RC2/LC. They pick up all the model kit lines, molds, license agreements, all ERTL except the farm line, American Muscle and the promotional division and die-cast bank lines. They also plan to get into other areas as well.

This is the forth member of the Autofest team that could not be disclosed until today and we should all look forward to the possibilities of a "no compete" clause ended and the need to liquidate stock. Does this ring any bells from the past?

This brings to light MANY more possibilities for all collectors and for the show!

First of all, this is awesome news!

My question being does this include castings that were retooled into JLs such as the Mercury Cougar, and also if it includes the old Racing Champions castings such as the Packard Caribbean?

As of five or so years ago the molds for cars such as the first generation Mazda RX-7, Ford EXP, and others issued by ERTL in the '70s and '80s were suppoed to still exist. Were these included as well and can they still be used?

So Tom's back in the diecast game. Sounds like good news to me.

I hate to answer direct for them but this is my understanding. Tom does get all the old molds to all the cars that were made and he was making arrangements to have them sent to the factory he used to make his JL product, the very same that JL still uses and the same that GreenLight uses. His no compete IS over so he is abe to sell his vast amount of old stock from the PM days along with the new stock he will accquire.

Now if you have on hand lots of product and need to sell it off to make room for new product, how do you do that? Hmmmmm, doesn't take long to figure out what's on the table and why Saturday morning is left blank for the show format. I'm just saying.........
