The crown vic is in need of some TLC, paint is badly chipped and the roof lights are missing. But they look like a nice casting, nice details, lites are tampoed on front and back, etc

Golden Wheels is a rather unique case. A lot of their cars have been sold 2 for $1 at Dollar General over the years (like the Crown Vic mentioned above) or for $.88 at Toy Liquidators/KB, but they've also done some very nice pieces like a New York City taxi set, police car set, and fire department set. Those castings are superb- their Checker blows the Matchbox version out of the water.

I wish it was handy to take pics of! I'll try to dig it up one of these days. In the meantime, here's a link: http://www.breithaupts.com/totc113.htm (last four pictures in the right column).

Ferrari F50, Ford minivan (Galaxy?), Dodge Viper, New Beetle, Mercedes S-Class, Mercedes ML430, and the previously mentioned Crown Voctoria: http://www.breithaupts.com/tcnw1000.htm

The Fords, VWs and Mercs were/are sold over here as Realtoy.

They must all be made by the same company and just distributed to different markets with different names. Like Malibu models are sold in Britain as High Speed.

pic from Tales of Toy Cars, thanks

except the police cruiser I have is Black and white, so they are linked to Realtoy, There were some Realtoy cars at my local Superstore, funny thing was out of all the different ones there were no North American cars, all European issues.

They make a 1950 Olds 88 in bright red, part of a two pack with a green '68 Mustang fastback.

It's nice, for what it is. It ain't the JL version, but it's nice

To the best of my knowledge, Golden Wheel Diecast and Realtoy are not related and are competitors. If we compare the 2 police Ford Crown Vic Intercepor models, there are many differences. The main one is that the trunk lid on the Realtoy is too short. Note that the correct name is Golden Wheel not Wheels. Although if we have more than one, i guess we could gramatically call them wheels (?)

There is basic info on both companies in the "Encyclopedia of Small Scale Diecast
Manufacturers" available at Amazon.com, Borders and B+N , among others! Yes, I did write portions of it!

Re : Malibu and High Speed (HS), These HS models are made for Malibu which is a Wal-Mart exclusive. HS models, the same as the Malibu models can also be found elsewhere .

The Ford Galaxy and the Mercs are definately the same castings, hence the companies must be linked.

Some of the castings were done by Edocar of the Netherlands. They share exactly the same wheels and sometimes liveries.

I found this version in rough form at a local mall's fleamarket Friday for 25 cents. Future derby car as the windows were in bad shape and it was missing all of the tampos.

Awesome! To my knowledge no one's done a banger/derby Golden Wheel yet. This is definitely the most suitable casting, with the possible exception of the Checker taxicab.

Golden Wheel vipers have come out under the hotwheel and edocar names as well. The Red Rooster HW promo in Australia were all golden wheel cars with HW on base. The line of Edocar sold last year were golden wheel castings viper edocar on base.
