Our Club had the track rented on a Saturday with the local Mustang club as a fundraiser for the Mustang club's leader's wife (he had passed away rather abruptly at 37 yrs old) |

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!

Feel free to go off topic- there's no problem with that. Especially not when we have some sweet Camaro vs Mustang action on the track. Also, very nice collection you have!

that is one awesome piece of rolling stock you go there. I like the simplicity of the white and black. Do you still have it? What was she known for, performance or show? Can't read the labels on the trophies.
What kind of numbers did she puit up? Or is it a he? I just kinda assume such a pretty little number like that has got to be female. Thanks for posting. Man I gotta get a real live 1:1. Just missed a 3rd generation a while back down here, roadworthy at about 1200$, But she does need a lot of $ to restore. A mechanic here where I work bought it, I thought he was being greedy as he already has a 2nd Gen one.

She's ours and not going anywhere any time soon. I had 3 offers over $30k last fall for her and couldn't do it. All of my trophies are show and shine etc. It has well over 400 hp squeezing out of the original 327 block and runs consistent 12.9's but I hate to run it for fear of breaking something. |

Wow, this topic has really had some interesting points since last I was here. Easter and other busy things took me away for a couple of days. But I've been to WM and TRU today...WM being a diecast desert after the holidays...but I'm seeing a lot more GL, as well as some of the other brands mentioned here at TRU. I have not purchased much of these other brands, as of yet. But there really does look to be some very nice diecast slipping into the mix. Living in the diecast boondocks, where seldom comes the latest releases, this has been my first broader view of what has been discussed here. Granted, this is all coming at me right after I've been trying to arrange the core elements of my collection into display cases, and looking at some of the newer JLs I got for Easter, and thinking the quality is really nice. And it is. When they manage to get their product out there, or I can afford to order from an OLd, I have to say there is some really fine product coming from LC. Is the fact that both JL, and a lot of these other brands, are showing up all at once at TRU a sign for the better for diecast in general? Might various companies be finding a clear path to TRU because they don't put as many obstacles in the way as WM does? I'm hopeful that JL and these other brands I'm now seeing, will continue to flow into TRU. It would at least be the start of an open avenue back into retail...and I have had years of nothing here. But it wasn't always this way. The well went dry about the same time WM opened a Supercenter in every major town in site. And I still say that's a large part of the problem. Because RC2 hadn't aquired the JL line when it first began to dry up around here. Could they do more? Yes, without a doubt. But aside from Mattel, I can't say any of the other brands have gotten any more on the pegs here than JL. My collecting, even before my financial rut, was up, down, choked off, and then finally I just decided to stop for a while because I really couldn't afford it. But that was an easy decision to make when there was nothing hardly of consequence to keep my interest continually peaked anyway. I'm sampling a lot more brands now. But I'm also glad JL is back, even if I have to go through an OLD half of the time. And maybe I'm seeing this differently after a long break, and an even longer dry spell, but when all is said and done, I'm darn glad to have a certain amount of access to the brand that got me interested in this hobby in the first place. I'll probably complain about the current situation some more in a day or two myself, but this is an honest, hindsight 20/20 sort of moment--so take it for what it's worth

There's a burgandy '69 in the local AutoTrader for $29,900. 454 motor (obviously not original- but with 33,000 miles) and auto tranny. The picture made the cover, and the price seems reasonable for a '69 Camaro (albeit modified, not stock numbers matching). If only I had the money... ...I'd buy another Mustang instead. Actually, if money was no object I'd probably get that one. Not my first choice of a car, but something like that doesn't pop up everyday.
