If you are in the Lancaster, Lebanon, Reading area and are interested in getting together about once a month for a little gravity racing let me know. I would like to get something going after the CARnival. We should be in good shape with a couple of quality tracks since I am building the 2 for the event. |

I'm still in.... I even bought a few more Tiger Wheels cars so I can keep up with you JL guys... I'm working on some banger ideas too. Maybe even a better, faster Polly Wheels car.

OK guys, I have a great location to meet when ever we would like to do this and kingsting, this spot would be large enough to fit your tracks! The spot I have in mind is actually the same place that I host video game tournaments. We have a huge spot located in the Park City Mall in Lancaster. The place where this is is actually a LAN center where they rent computer time or video game time. They have long hours on weekends and they even have all nighters sometimes so we would not have to worry about being there too late. They open at 11:00. There are snack machines and soda/energy drink machines in the store and the store is very close to the food court plus we can bring food in or order pizza. We should rally together and form something! I would like to nominate Pewter as the scheduling director since he has expressed interest and he has such an odd schedule! Chris, if you are interested, PM me and I can show you what I have in mind. So, lets get cracking! Any name suggestions? Formats for running a monthly meet? Traveling trophey? let the ideas roll! |

Names- let's keep something with the Keystone theme. Maybe Keystone State Gravity Racing? Format- instead of making the Tiger Wheels, trucks, and vans run in their own class, and have a class for everything else, let's run time trials where the cars are broken into brackets based on their speed. Like anything from 1.60 to 1.69 would be one class, 1.70 to 1.79 would be the next and so on. Obviously at the end of the event, the winner is the car in the fastest class, but at least that gives the rest of us something to fight over too. Follow that up with some banger heats on the banger track. Trophy- a neat idea, but ultimately something that will end up getting forgotten half the time. I know I'd never remember to bring it to the next meeting... |

Park City would be awesome! I'm down there all the time anyway... I'm not sure about a monthly meeting. That could be a bit much in the summer when people are busy but we could try it and see. Maybe bi-monthly in the summer? I'm willing to bring my two lane, 50 foot track with the electronic finish for some of the racing. Centershock's short track performed flawlessly at the event and we could try to use them both. I can bring the 50 foot drag track too that we could set up to use for fun between races. We definitely need the banger track as well! One other note on classes - Many heavy cars will perform much differently on a long track where axle and wheel friction comes into play. A lighter car with well aligned wheels will do a lot better on the flat section compared to something like a Boogie Van. If we did classes, I would vote for something like stock for newer cars, vintage for Redlines, Toppers, Kenner, Corgi, Superfast, etc., custom/modified, and outlaw. Outlaw cars would be the top three castings from the previous event and at the end of the year we could do something like an outlaw championship race. ![]() If we end up at a location that won't support a 50 foot track, I have plenty of track rolls that can be cut down to fit any room. |
