Ferrari = Yat Ming (so's the red Celica)
Mercedes = Zylmex
Triceratops is I think a generic pickup.
Porsche- CF? Does it have a license plate on the rear with CF30_?

"CF" is the Porsche's manufacturer. There's not the company's precise name, but what they're known by throughtout the collector community (due to the CF301-CF306 on the license plates of the six models they made). I can look up the exact name when I get home...

All of CF's models are Tomica copies and they also did the Audi 5000, Nissan Bluebird Turbo, Fiat X1/9, and two others that are escaping me at the moment.

Wow, even the "Encyclopedia of Small Scall Diecast Manufacturers" (by Dave Weber, Kimmo Sahakangas, & Dave Foster) doesn't have this brand's precise name. Likewise on Tales Of Toy Cars. That said I did get a list of the cars CF made on TOTC:

http://www.breithaupts.com/totc304.htm

The ones that escaped me earlier were the Jaguar XJ-S and Toyota Corolla Levin.

Until I hooked up with Kimmo to write the 1st edition ( often refered to as the DMV), I never heard of CFs. But his model availability for the more obscure manufacturers has defititely been more prolific than here on the East Coast.

anybody know what the MB truck 4x4 triceratops is?

The Matchbox truck is a Ford Courier. This version is from a dinosaur themed five-pack.

Thank you! I learned something new today too. :thumbup:

Would this be the old Courier camper casting given new life? Hard to believe I had both as a kid (and still do- including this Triceratops version!) but never picked up on the fact they were the same casting. This would make sense since the Courier's camper hole would be filled by the giant spare tire.

Yes, it's the same truck. Not sure if it was retooled or modified to accommodate a different chassis for those over-sized wheels.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the Ford Courier was based on a Mazda pick-up?
