Most Anticipated?

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
Of the new castings yet to come this year, what's your most anticipated?

I'm leaning towards the Vega wagon and Monza myself. JL started things rolling with the '70s car trend with the Vega, Maverick, and Gremlin (and truthfully, started the ball rolling even earlier with the '71-'72 Buick Riviera, '70-'72 Monte Carlo, and '76-'77 Cutlass of several years ago), and then MotorMax debuted their Maverick, Pinto, and Mustang II right around the time JL's own Pinto came out. The MotorMax kept the '70s coming with some AMCs (Gremlin, Pacer, Hornet, Matador), more Fords ('71 Mustang Sportsroof, '78 Thunderbird), Chevy (Caprice, Impala, Chevette, and Vega), and Chrysler (Town & Country), and threw some '80s cars (Fiero, Reliant/Aries, Omni/Horizon, Diplomat) into the mix too. Now JL is launching their next wave of '70s cars.

What this means is that all of a sudden, my favorite era for real cars is suddenly becoming the newest trend in 1/64. I haven't gotten ahold of the International Scout yet, but from what I've seen in pictures, it looks like an awesome casting. Likewise the test shot shown of the '75 Corvette looks great too (the trunk rack was an excellent touch!).

One thing's for certain, with JL lately there hasn't been a shortage of things to talk about. From the good (like the above castings) to the bad (Hudsongate ;) ), JL's making us talk.

So you admit that you like a Porsche more than an American car? :P B)

Support your local demo derby.

I'm waiting to find a IH Scout II either on the pegs or in a trade. Have a trade pending for one on another board. The Scout is one casting I've been waiting for several years now ever since Swifty pointed out that JL did a prototype of it several years ago. If I ever buy a 1/1 classic SUV, it will be a Scout II. I really love that body style.

The Autofest Dinner Car and the surprise. I'm dying to see the surprise. Yes, I know I'm jaded but I'm having a good feeling about this one. :t:

The Monza and Monte Carlo are on my list for sure. I am also looking forward to the 80's Trans Am. I really wish JL or GL would do a good '93-'97 Formula/Trans Am/Firehawk. Racing Champions had a nice one but it was a little too big for 1:64.

I've got the RC Mint one myself. A very good casting for the time period, but as you said, a tad too big, and likely won't make the transition to the JL line based on that fact. Since JL already has the '98-'02 'Bird I'd suspect that Greenlight will be more likely to do the '93-'97 before JL.
