Today's car is RealToy's Mercedes C-Class Sedan.

The second generation C-Class was introduced in 2000, with a sportier look than the previous generations, with a steeper front-end and shorter rear-end. The styling cues were similar to that of the W220 S-Class. The sedan debuted with a range of straight-four and V6 gasoline engines and straight-four and straight-five Diesels. Most of the engines were carried over from the W202, but the C 320 was exclusive, offering 218 hp, also the C240 now had 2597 cc but output was unchanged at 170 hp. The diesels now featured common rail direct injection and variable geometry turbochargers. Six-speed manual gearboxes were now standard for nearly the entire range (except the C320 and C 270 CDI). For the first time, the number designations were no longer equivalent to the engine displacement, more specifically in the C 180 (2.0 L), C 240 (2.6 L) and C 200 CDI (2.2 L).

The C-Class is arguably one of the most popular automobiles in its class in many of the European markets. The second generation was for a long time after its release the second most popular new car in the German market, right after the Volkswagen Golf, and in 2002 it achieved success in the field of safety by scoring the maximum five stars in a EuroNCAP crash test. In the United States, the C-Class automobiles are the least expensive of the Mercedes-Benz lineup as the A-Class was not imported there. However the W203 C-Class did acquire a poor reputation for reliability compared to other Mercedes-Benz models, an area which was targeted for improvement in the replacement model.

The last W203 C-Class sedan was produced on December 14, 2006 at the Sindelfingen plant, after almost 630,000 units of the sedan were produced.

Good detail on the rear brake lights.

I bought this car for 50 cents at a flea market. It has a few scuffs on the glass, but otherwise was found in good condition. Detail is very good for a non MB/HW brand company.

I bought one in Tesco the other da for 33p. For the price, the quality is excellent, and certainly matches that of a Matchbox.

Nice model!

And what is it with cars ending production runs on my birthday? The last AMC (an Eagle 4WD station wagon) was produced on December 14th 1987, and this Merc ended production on the same date, nineteen years later. Odd...

Haven't you heard of the December 14th curse?

A weird question, but is this car black, dark gray, or dark green?

It's dark green with black trim around the doors and roof supports. It is a dark color. I use two 27 watt fluorescent lights when shooting pics of this car and it still appears to be slightly dark. Kinda funky.

Well I looked at the pics so fast I just assumed it was black. That is a good eye Swifty! Now, a second look I can kinda tell. It is a good representation of the actual car, I think. Not too showy, no bling on it, so it gets an acceptable rating here. I do like the license plate detail, along with the lights.

Black was my first impression also- I took a good look at it when updating the car of the day discussion thread (kept as a guide to ensure variety so we don't get too many of a certain type/brand/make/model of car) and realized it was looking dark hunter green.

I aim for accuracy! ;)

A fantastic model from a budget brand. It makes you wonder what this would look like if Realtoy gussied it up with some premium wheels and even better details.

The wheels are the only thing about this car that says "Economy Brand" to me. Otherwise it looks pretty up-market. I like it. Anyone want to give it a wheel swap?

Don't recall this one but there are a lot of Realtoy models out there I have not seen. :D A very nice and well detailed model.

Three different wheels available on the green release (concave spokes was most recent; smaller wheels in the foreground was the initial release):

Some other releases were questionable (the periwinkle blue with "Turbo" banner on the windshield and the wheels selected for the orange release are both weird).
