The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
|
http://deloreancarshow.com/ Anyone else going? I'll be there today! I'll have my camera so expect lots of pics! If for some reason I don't come back, one of the time machines was working and I decided to go back to 1985. If that's the case I may never leave, but if I do it will only be to come back to the, uh, future to sell "Star Wars", "Transformers", and Real Riders Hot Wheels' on eBay.

This is off topic somewhat from the thread, but will they have any other cars from the BTTF movie like a AMC Eagle 4x4 or other cars? Have fun Swifty and bring back plenty of pics.

Nope- it was a DeLorean (and Bricklin) specific show. I was actually surprised to only see one BTTF replicar, and it was part of the display, not a driver. I took lots of pics, and even some video. Almost 300 pics, and if you include videos it bumps it past 300. Some of those will be unusable, but the bulk will be posted in various places of the board this weekend. And oh yes, there's even some very surprising diecast content coming. Some of which I had known but never seen, and some of which was new to me entirely. And as you can probably tell- I had an excellent time! Cars were seen, a museum was toured, go karts were raced (I got a bum one that couldn't even get out of its own way...blah!), barbeque was eaten, and photos were taken. A most excellent way to spend a day! My only regret is that I won't get to be there for the remaining days of the show.

As promised, here are some of the photos from my day at the DeLorean-Bricklin show in Gettysburg! The pictures seen here are of the real cars seen at the show. There's some diecast content coming too, and that'll be posted in the appropriate forums.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Holy Hole in Doughnut!!! That's a lot of great looking Deloreans at one place at one time. Looks like JL should pick up the chrome version shown in your awesome pics Sean. I think they took like 7/8 minutes to fully load on my computer. Like most great ideas in the car world, companies that have advance engineering such as the Delorean with a light weight body, don'd often do well. Of course it does not help when the guy leading the company is involved in drugs either! Hope you got a contact number for that lovely lady outside of the hotel! WOW! |

How many pages did you 'investigate' of the vintage Playboy magazine until you found the 'correct' pics of the cars?

JL should do a stock DeLorean! I'd buy one in a heartbeat- as would most of the folks in attendance at this show. While it would be hard to do them in multiple colors (only two "colors" were ever available from the factory- the stainless steal and three gold plated ones), as you can see there are custom painted ones (red, yellow, and black were in attendance), and there are many different stripe combinations. If they tool up all three hoods (gas flap, flat, and grooved- all three of which are visible in these pics) they could have an almost endless amount of variations on this car. On a side note, the chrome one I believe is actually just polished stainless steel. I thought it was chromed too, but fortunately I was attending with a DeLorean owner who set me straight on that. John De Lorean was eventually cleared of the drug charges...it just came a little too late to save the company, unfortunately. I'm afraid I didn't stop to get her number. I was there for cars, not girls. Not that I don't enjoy mixing the two...

You'll notice the next six pictures are missing from the sequence by numbers. The Bricklin guys were having a silent auction for that magazine due to the Bricklin article, and I took the pics of the cover and the article and stopped, and they chided me for not taking pics of the centerfold. Being the red-blooded American guy that I am I was more than happy to make up for that...but this is a G-rated board, unfortunately. The only thing I purchased was a t-shirt for the event- and that wiped me out, unfortunately. But everyone (DeLorean guys and Bricklin guys alike) was nice and friendly. Had some great conversations with quite a few folks from both sides. One of the Bricklin guys turned out to be a Studebaker and AMC guy too- we got to talking about Shrock Bros., the Studebaker Museum out in South Bend, etc. Did I mention I had a really great time?

LOL, I believe that's where the website is headquartered. As for my friend in the shirt and cap- that's Joe. He's a coworker and DeLorean owner. Although his is mid-restoration and was not ready in time for the show. The red Jeep visible in some of the pics is his.

It came out cool! Though to be honest I was trying hard to not get myself into the picture, hence the camera held out so far, LOL! |
