It was pointed out to me by some members of PMCC that the show was not adverised heavily enough locally. By placing ads in the local papers in the Lancaster/ Ephrata areas , you could possibly get better attendance. Also it might help to advertise outside the Motel about te show to possibly attract some passersby people. Plus last year I did not seek out any rooms for in room trading- since it appeared everyone was in the one room. Were there any other dealers? If so, I suggest a list of active rooms be provided at registration to alleviate this . I believe the previous weekend is the usually scheduled PMCC Mtg - but if I have enough notification , this meeting date can be canceled or changed so there will be no conflict. |

Dave, that was an intentional oversight, on my part anyhow. My thoughts on this were, and still are to get the event message out by word of mouth, and on several diecast websites. The last people I want to see that day are my local ebay seller and the fleamarket guy, looking for a score! I've attended quite a few KMart HW events, and can honestly say, I wouldn't want the majority of those people to show up. We were not disappointed by the turn out! As for the room trading, most of that occured the evening before, and later the night of the event. We will look into ways to make this more accessible for everyone, thanks for the suggestion. All the vendors were in the main room at the event, there was however, a lot of diecast scattered about various rooms in the hotel

Yes Ray, hopefully I'll have my ugly and over rated '85 Monte Carlo pieced together by then. If not it'll be the Camaro for another season. |

As Bray stated, yes, it was an intentional oversite for a few reasons. This was the first time that we put together something like the CARnival and we did not want to be unprepared for a huge turnout and we did not do the show for profit so advertising in a paper was not really something that we considered. This time around we will be more prepared and plan on making the event a bit longer and a bit more organized. If we have interest from vendors to advertise the event on a larger scale than what we did we would possibly consider it. I am stoked that the PMCC has an interest in the CARnival and I would like to get the crew a bit more involved before and during if they wish. Also, my Saturdays just opened up due to Mandy's work closing down this Tuesday so I have time to attend PMCC meeting more regularly. The one thing that we do want to iron out better is the room to room trading. We had a board set up for people to mark what they had and what room they were in but it was not used very well and we modified the room setup at the last minute that allowed more tables for folks so yes, most everybody that was going to do the room to room setup ended up in the main room. We initially planned on locals having the tables in the main room and the travelers to set up in their rooms but lack of locals wishing to set up allowed for the people that came from afar to set up which worked out for all. Hope to see you at the next PMCC meeting. |

I hope I can make it again. It was a great time last year. If all goes right we will be working on our house then, but if we can manage it, were going to be there! |

I will certainly try to be there if possible. Last April was a great time. I did manage to get to a couple of rooms for trading/buying, but that was the first night when everyone had just arrived. But that's part of the fun too, just letting things happen. I think it's great to plan and have as much organization as possible, but it's also impossible to nail down everything, or even have time for it in a day. The extra day sounds like a really good idea. But if everything has to be out of the rooms by noon on Sunday, that could still be a little hectic for some. I remember Hutt and Pierre, and how much packing had to be done in Hutt's van in order to get out of there on time...lol! Anyway, it's a little early for me to see that far into the future as a deffinite thing, but knowing about it early helps me to plan more accordingly. Thanks, Nick. |

Good question John. I plan on going to Vegas in April 2009. I hope I don't miss the Carnival, but Nick hasn't confirmed a date yet. I'll try to book reservations in Vegas so I can attend the Carnival, but I'll have to know the date of the Carnival first. |
