Agreed! The new casting is all wrong, while the old one was a very good replica. The blown engine GT-350 was one of my favs as a kid. I had at least two of them, maybe more!

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
You know, I can see a few areas from these pics:

The newer casting's roofline is too arched, and the front is too squared off. Add to that the wheelwells look like they're ready to take 66" tractor tires or 36" Dubs. The rear "haunches" also seem a little too pronounced. In other words, this car almost seems like a parody of the real car instead of a replica.

I think the crew that's there today would've done a much better job of casting this car than the crew that was there in 1999.
