A cool pair of race Fords... Both 64s are Racing Champions and the 65 street machine is also a Racing Champion... The 65 stock car is a Hasbro...

Nice cars! I love the customized '64. Speaking of customs, that Rusty Wallace paint scheme needs to go away on the Hasbro. It just looks wrong on a 1965 Galaxie! |

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
|
Is the "Hasbro" actually a RC casting that was done under sub licensing?? I thought that RC had the license to do the fantasy cars ("Stock Rods?") and the Rusty car was part of that series. I've never seen the Hasbro people issue any car like that, unless it was sold at the track or limited parts of the country. Very odd, but interesting. I agree with Swifty, but actually , there are people who do collect the oddball fantasy cars and those with just the driver's name instead of the alcohol or adult products. I don't do the latter, but I grabbed everything I could find that had Ward Burton's name and Caterpillar scheme, such as Pontiacs, a gasser coupe, a helicopter, and so forth. |

Not sure if they were done for Hasbro, but they resembled Action's castings of the same era and Action bought "Winner's Circle" from Hasbro in 2000. |

VERY GOOD observation, SWIFTY!! I completely forgot about Action and the Winner's Circle line being bought by them for retail store sales.....I was a member of Action RCCA when they were in their glory days, and sold NASCAR castings in lmited amounts. They also did fanatasy cars and the Rusty car may be associated through all of that time period and carried over into stores. I never did buy any of their nostalgia or fanatasy cars back then, maybe I should have gotten a few. Do you remember when they were big into selling "pedal cars" with NASCAR team decos??

I am quite sure that the Rusty car is a Hasbro/Winners Circle car release. The quality of the cast of the body and the wheels and tires sure look like the parent company RCCA/ACTION. Winners Circle made several of these 65 Fords for current drivers, that were for sale in Target,Walmart and KMart. This was like 1998. The Winners Circle, Cool Collectibles line release for sure of 1998.

I had forgotten about those entirely... ....And I'm half tempted to ban you for reminding me about them! Just kidding of course! Jada has actually done a Shelby pedal car (blinged as normal!) in their 1/64 line. Which probably puts that at about 1/24 or so scale.
