These came from an expensive Gift set from the early 1980's and were all special colors etc. exclusively for that set and were never released in single blisterpacks only the set, while you could get these castings in BP's the colors/tampos/labels/wheels were SUPPOSED to be only in the Osaka Castle Super Gift Set. While I have had quite a number of them I have never seen a complete set, nor even a picture of the original gift set packaging! Tomica castings are without question one of the best in quality and subjects chosen made back then and today. :02:

Hi James I kinda have a hint you like Chevies a lot...me too, I just bleed Mopar mostly...anyhow there are some really nice Chevy castings in the Tomica line including a few Stepsides if memory serves me correctly as well as vettes, camaros and firebirds...I am sure you would enjoy

Wow... Looks like that's one 80 car gift set worth finding! Too bad it probably requires a second mortgage to acquire one. The Pulsar in particular looks awesome to me.

Nice! There's a reason Tomica is my favorite brand; they do indeed have a very good detail/price ratio (if it weren't for them having to be imported privately  )

I used to have a picture of a complete Osaka set, but lost it when my HDD was wiped by a virus a few years back. Here's my one and only Osaka model - like most people, I can only dream of a complete set. Even if I found one, I couldn't afford it anyway.

I like that- what is it?

It looks like something you'd see in a Godzilla movie seconds before a giant clawed foot smashes it out of existance!

I remember that one as well as 3 or 4 other food vendor trucks, the bookmobile was neat. I may have some older pics on a disc somewhere HOPEFULLY and will post them Thanks guys keep the pictures coming, as they say a picture is worth a 1000 words, and there is a world of diecast :toy: out there and I would like to see it all

Not a specific moment, just meant it would look at home in one. And considering Tomica supplied many of the cars used in the later movies, I wouldn't be surprised if a few of these were in one.

I love your Mazda Familia...it's a casting that has eluded me for one reason or another. It looks great in that color combination.
