The new Tomica for April have been announced. Once again I can't say I am terribly excited about the selction - but it is what it is:

First, the new #33 (replacing the Toyota Vitz) - the new Daihatsu Move:

The second release in the regular line is the #84 Honda Freed (replacing the Nissan March Patrol Car)

The new Tomica Limited is the Isuzu Giga Dump Truck:

A bit more to my liking is the new "Lottery Set" out at the end of March - lots of Taxis and other realistic civilian type transport:

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
The Freed is okay, but it seems like there are too many minivans in the Tomica line as is. The Limited dump truck looks nice, any chance it's close to 1/64 (or is this an existing 1-120 casting?)?

I agree it's too many vans - but that's what sells at the moment, and Tomica is all about realistic models of popular cars. In a way, it's good they don't change their approach. But all of those boxy things are getting to me...

The truck is an existing 1-120 casting, so it'll be 1/100 or thereabouts.

Tomica Limited Vintage does a 1/64 dump truck - that's a massive thing with a price tag to match! Retails at about US$ 30.00 in Japan.

That's not a bad little truck right there! I especially love the load in the back!

The Move looks good, but I think I'll pass on it.

Is the Freed a mini mini-van?
