HUPMOBILE (US) 1908-1941

The Hupp Motor Company of Detroit was founded by the Hupp Brothers, Robert and Louis. The first product was a 2 speed Runabout. The firm maintained a successful status in the medium price field. The Chandler Automobile factory in Cleveland Ohio was purchased in 1929. However their financial situation began to falter due to the Great Depression and resulting lack of sales. Their last attempt for survival in 1940 involved the use of body dies previously owned by Cord identified as the Skylark model. Although the bodies were actually stamped by the Graham factory alongside a similar appearing car, the Hollywood; the venture was not successful and operations ceased just before WWII.
The only known model in small scale was made by High Speed in the early 2000s for a Readers Digest promotional. It is identified as a 1914 "32" Touring Car.

Since the model is of an earlier car, here is a picture of a real one of similar vintage, a 1910 Hupmobile Runabout spotted at the 2009 Techno-Classica show in Essen, Germany:
