The Mustang II is a Mustang too!

Cool looking! I'm guessing that's approximately 1/43 scale? |

Some neat vehicles in these threads. What is a shame is there were all made in the USA and now none of this neat stuff is made there. You would think North America could still compete in a 3" plastic car and be competitive. IMHO there is very little of this type of young child automobile replicas made at all.

I agree James 100% as I have been digging them out I was amazed that they all were made in USA mostly in Illinois. and the pride those companies had like Banner who even put their name on the sides!..it got me to thinking I have a friend who has a couple old plastic injection mold machines...It would be neat to rekindle some made in USA...vehicles.... . All in all they are very fasinating and represent a much different era....

I agree that would be cool! Though the problem comes up with the testing for lead content in toys manufactured now, that would put you out of business before you could even start. |

Nice stuff! As a kid, I had the Caddy in various colors...it also came with a "hardtop" that was removable...also had the 56 Chevy wagon from the same company. All were sold at JJ Newberry's, a McCrory store. Got a couple of them here from those days. Kimmo |

Thanks! Kimmo, did they use the convertible casting and just fit it around the boot? And was the top the same color as the body or like a black or white maybe? I have another Caddy but it is a darker red and appears to maybe have been handpainted silver trim? and a trace of some kind of black lettered label on the upper front fenders. I also have a couple of the 56 wagons, I think they are Nomads on in Red and one is a kinda of Army Green I have to find em and pic's... I had these posted along with the other plastics, since I noticed there wasn't anything on them, in the A-Z bay earlier after reading the "pinned" description saying to post the plastic etc with information and pictures if possible....but they ended up here, except for the Banner plastic ones?, sorry if I misunderstood the "Pinned" notice....Only trying to post up stuff of interest, as I am sure curious about them and their history and what else is out there....Like I say "if its got wheels" I have got to look at it at least once....Thanks Larry |

Actually, if that's 1/43, that would explain why the topics got moved. The A to Z section is only for three inch (approximately 1/64 scale). |
