What series is the Checker from? The VW has a spot in my collection. Actually needs to be DL'ed, but have no space for it. |

Got both- and both are winners. What city is the Checker supposed to represent? |

Thanks! I seriously wish they'd keep doing various cities with this casting. Heck, I'd even buy a five pack of different tampoed Checkers each year if it would get them to make more of them! Or maybe for variety run the Checker, VW, Impala, Crown Victoria, and the generic cab (to be replaced by a real car eventually...) each year as a taxi five pack? Either way, it's something I'd love to see, and there are plenty of different liveries yet to go on the taxi castings. |

Couldn't agree more! You could use the Citroen as a French taxi (that wouldn't be hard), and there are some other older castings around as well that could be done up taxi-wise. Edited by diecastdingo, Mar 13 2009, 07:25 AM.

Oh! I like that idea! Maybe keep the Checker, Crown Vic, and Bug in the pack yearly, and swap out the remaining two cars each year? The Impala, DS, perhaps the Subaru if licensing issues can be resolved, BMW 328. Does Matchbox have any suitable Mercedes models in their current tooling archive? I seem to recall that all of the recent Matchbox Mercs have been super-luxury models ill-suited to police or taxi duty. Seeing as how the Checker only appears in 5 packs these days, at least it would give it a viable paint scheme instead of Nickelodeon... |

The green and white Superfast version's supposed to be a take on the Chicago look; the one in the regular line in green metallic perhaps less so... |
