Support your local demo derby.

What's the deal with the wheels? Does the windshield have the lightning strikes on them too? A non Johnny Lightning car that has lightning strikes, go figure.

I remember having to mail in to get these and I think they were called Lightning wheels, there was 3 or 4 others....if not careful the caps fall out of the wheels....some came in a little clear tubular garage.

If I remember correctly, these pre-date JL's return to the marketplace.

Support your local demo derby.

Would that put this version to be dated around '92 or '93 then?

1991 Copyright Blisterpack with offer for Lightning Racer, rear cut out coupon states (shows an F40) "offer good thru June 30, 1993" you sent 3 UPC codes & 1.00 for a special Matchbox Lightning Racer...I find it hard to believe it they ran this offer from 1991 thru 1993....so I would say it was a 1993 only offer? :02:

Generally I've noticed that the cards tend to be copyrighted a year before the cars are actually released. So this is likely a 1992-1993 promo.
