Support your local demo derby.

Funky appearing truck Larry. Was this Corgi's attempt at doing a van wrecker similar to the Chevy done by MB?

I think the Cab is more along the line of a English Ford type of wrecker especially being a Corgi issue seems to make sense...UK Guys?

I also believe this was the one and only time casting this appeared in the Hot Wheels line.

I recall the 57 T Bird convert showing up with RR's and in Yellow?

It's a nice casting but looks very out of place in the HW lineup.

 Chuckle'n with tongue in cheek......does that mean that nice looking castings look out of place in the Hot Wheels lineup :toy: ...you may have something there ;)

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
Sure, they didn't fit into the Hot Wheels line at all, but it was nice to get one last hurrah out of these castings before they were junked. Especially since some of the Hot Wheels versions trump the Corgi versions of the same castings (better paint and wheels).

I regret that the '79 Dodge Magnum and AMC Pacer never made the transition but I suspect those castings were long gone by the time of the Mattel takeover. Likewise the SD1 would have made an awesome Hot Wheels model!

The Hotwheels versions of these Corgi castings look like nicer issues, i.e better wheels and paint schemes. It's weird how they ended up in the Hotwheels line though. Does anyone know why? Or does anyone know if Hotwheels have used castings made originally by other manufacturers in their line?

I don't recall seeing that one. Do you have a picture, Swifty?

I've spent the last ten minutes looking for one (finally found one in a completed eBay France auction!):

I have one, but it isn't accessible for photographing at the moment. It has a button on the base that pops the hood open. However, I don't think it has an interior...

Funnily enough, I spent about 5-10 minutes trying to find a picture of one and that was the only one I could find too. I didn't even know the model existed.

It must have had a very limited production run because most Corgi Junior models are pretty easy to find, especially from this era.

Man, if I'd have seen that tow truck on the pegs here, I'd have gotten it. I think I've gotten most of the other Corgi carryovers into the HW line.

Come to think of it, I have a very interesting one: the '57 T-Bird in blue metallic- with Corgi wheels and a HW base. Eventually, it got HW five spokes and that (expletive deleted) logo tampoed in red on the windshield.
