It's a Moskvitch 427 station wagon. 'Aeroflot'. Perhaps an airport shuttle. |

Despite being incredibly awful cars, I enjoy collecting Russian car models because unlike the real things, they will never let you down. For a start, they are much better built than real Russian cars, and for models that were probably made 25-30 years ago, they are actually of better quality than other 1:43 cars made by other manufacturers of the time such as Solido, Norev and Dinky. They all have rubber tyres, good detail, good quality-paint and most have opening parts. Some have opening parts all around. And, for models that would have only originally been sold in the home market, they seem to show up quite often at UK toy fairs for very reasonable prices (I've never paid more than £5 for a boxed example). It's always baffled me how they ended up over here, but I was told a few months ago that Russian fishermen bought them over here to swap for tobacco and alcohol. Funny, eh? Yes, James, I've often felt that the Russians must've made a pleasant alternative to the Dinkys of the time, which, like the Corgis, were already up to 1:36 and of an appalling build quality. I like 'em... |

Nice stuff! I have this car, but not in this livery! Russian cars are awesome, pretty much everything James_Autos said goes the same for me! |
