I did a search of all the forum categories on this website, and was surprised to find brief mentions of these Power Tomy or Motor Tomica cars. Although I'm sure many of you are aware of them, but I'd like to share mine, and see yours if you've got any! (Mine are all 1992 and 1993.) These diecast cars are battery powered with a single speed and direction, and were made to follow large plastic tracks with animated and interactive stops. All models shown in this post are 1992, except for the Bus and Nissan Atlas, which are 1993. I haven't seen any glimpse of new models locally, so share your thoughts, and maybe even your collection! I've seen these for sale on ebay and elsewhere, but so far have resisted the temptation. I need another line to collect like a hole in the head...

Personally no matter what the brand is, if the cast is appealing, if the quality is appealing, if anything about the diecast item has that appeal. I buy it. |

Well stated. The Skyline and the dump truck are my favorites of this batch. Thanks for the pics.

I've actually never heard of them before but I must admit they have my interest- what scale are they? |

I don't remember the scale being printed on their box. ...But when compared, they are close to a Siku. Maybe smaller by a hair still.
I pulled the Wiki because I was unsure of the product myself. I also didn't know that they don't make these anymore, and don't make them out of diecast metal too. |

So I spent a few hours on the net, trying to find more on the Motor Tomica. The only information out there regarding them usually goes back to the same article on Wikipedia. And I haven't managed to find pictures or sellers of them on duhbay. Now I'm wondering what the current value of such cars could be? |
