What we have here is probably the French version of the VW Thing. Unlike the Thing, this one was only a common site in the home market and does not have a cult following:

Forget the AMC Pacer. This one goes right next to the Pontiac Aztek as one of the ugliest cars ever built. Just...wow. No wonder it has no cult following- it's so open you can't even hide that you're the one driving it! ;)

A vehicle for le pieds noir d'Algerie Francaise, perhaps?

I just got mine in the mail (thanks to JK)!

I stand by my early accusation- this thing is ugly! And it's not even 1/64 like I thought the Norev Retros were supposed to be. It's 1/54 which is even out of scale with the rest of their 1/55 offerings.

Norev seem to have put 1:54 on all of their classic cars but I don't think it's entirely accurate. Most of them are around 1:58-1:60.

And as for this one being uglier than the Pontiac Aztec - that just isn't possible!

The Aztek was one giant nail in the coffin.
