One of my VERY early ones. The perfect late '50s look, although by this time, the two tones were becoming passe. Chevrolet- and by extension, GM- were becoming more conservative in their choice of colors, and yet, more confident in them. The Chevies of 1960, '61, '62, came in bright colors, summer colors, that were very inviting. By contrast, Plymouth's shades were scary, and only accentuated Virgil Exner's excesses, as did Dodge. USA-1, folks. Not just a slogan. Back then, it was the truth. |
