Originally I posted this topic about two odd plastic bodied cars from Majorette found at a rummage sale. I was going to de-tampo the Ford Escort, but it didn't work out. Red enamel and black enamel paint and basic detailing did the trick instead. Before ![]() After ![]() ![]() Again, I'm a very impatient person, so it was a quick overnight job with obvious results for lacking quality but I'm still pleased. Funny thing, when I was younger I used to hate having red cars. ...Just because I couldn't make the rear lights show up when they were detailed. ...But red is my favorite colour, so being old enough to properly paint and detail, red is not an objection! |

Awesome job! I think it came out great. I'm the same way. Very little patience if it's gonna take to long to finish. I don't have a lot of time to spend on doing a custom, so the easier and quicker way works for me as long as I'm happy with the end results. |

I have zero patience either, but I've also learned that haste indeed makes waste. So, nowadays, the paint I use dries in ten minutes at most, no matter what. I use Testor's silver, usually as an undercoat, but also as a finish, and that is dry to the touch in two minutes. The clear coat I use (very inexpensive at Walmart) is dry to the touch in less than ten. I can have a car done in a very short time if need be, if I'm not changing anything else. |
