The Mustang II is a Mustang too!

Minis are the name of the game. Old, new, as long as it's 1/64-1/55 it's fair game. Needs to sport new wheels and paint. Have fun! |

Not promising anything, (I missed the last contest). But I'm working on one right now. I have the idea... just need to build it. Do we post pics or just send them to you Swifty? |

Will try to get mine stripped in the morning. Have my wheels glued into place but still need to pick a color. |

Well, the UK's racing color is British Racing Green, so a nice dark green is suitable for the car. |

Got mine stripped, sanded, primed and shot a few coats of a base sprayed. Might try to do some type of racing stripe and then add some details. So far so good. |

Looking forward to seeing this month's entries. I'd have entered myself but workshop where I strip my cars down is being rebuilt and the weather is rather wet as well

I'm glad I got an early start. Need to strip it all down and start over, and throw this old paint away. |

Well, I may not be entering. I actually had a Mini stripped and hanging around, so I was happy to see I was ahead of the game. So, I sprayed on some paint adhesive, primer coat, and fire red top coat. Then I decided to do the hood and roof white, so it was lightly sanded, taped, and primed light gray. Then I sprayed on gloss white. It was looking good, and I was happy with it. I was going for a racing look, so I added some blue stripes to the roof and hood, meatball numbers on the doors, and some sponsor decals. Better than 24 hours later I sprayed on the Krylon triple clear coat. I've used this clear before with good results, but this time the white yellowed, and all the stripes crinkeled (sp?) up on me. Boy was I bummed. I may be heading to Georgia this Saturday to see my daughter who's due to have a baby girl any day now. I'll be back next Friday, but then I'm having hip surgery on the 30th, so I may not have the time to start over. I still can't figure out what happened with the stripe decals. All the others are fine. |

Sorry to hear about the Mini, and the hip surgery. But hey... a big on the new grand daughter!!! Mine is looking rough as well. Maybe go for the "after the race" dirty look. That could be an option for ya. Its all for fun anyway.

What's that expression? Great minds think alike? Bob, I no sooner finished type the post last night and tried doing exactly that. I have two cans of a brown textured spray paint, figuring I'd give the car a once over. I've had them for a while thought and it wouldn't spray more than 2-3 seconds. the mini really looks pathetic now. Maybe I'll do a end of muddy rally race and smashing into a stone wall. Thanks for the well wishes guys! |
