Garden looks pretty good Roachie. Had some sweat peas in the garden here but the local union composed of bunny rabbits ate them all before they matured! The nerve of the little rascals. The tomatoes and corn should be good this year with all the rain we've had, at least here in the midwest. Thanks for the pics! |

Roachie's garden always just blows me away, I make a pathetic attempt to grow vegetables, I think my lettuce last year if priced as actual costs would have topped out at over 10$ a head. |

Great looking garden! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to plant mine this year ![]() I can't believe you planted blackberries? I have an entire acre of those weeds and would love to see them permantely removed...I never want to eat another blackberry in my life! Anyone wants some come on over to my place. I have enough to feed a city! |

These are thorn less Brier berries, they were a gift from a friend. Who grows flowers and veggies for a living. I only planted one , but it keep multiplying and multiplying. This fall i will dig some of them up and relocate them. I have plenty wild black berries growing wild all over too. I prefer blue berries, which my neighbor has 14 bushes full. Some pictures i took last year. ![]() ![]() Roachie |

Now thornless would be nice! Mine are the wild variety and they make yummy blackberry jam! However, as you mentioned they multiply by alarming rates! And the root ball is huge! If you don't remove that entire ball then they just keep coming back! I have cleared about 1/2 an acre and so far all I can do is keep mowing over them until I finally find and pull all the balls. Oh how I love blueberries! I would make muffins and pancakes! So good! |

The blueberries were so plentiful last year. I know i must have picked 50 or 60 lbs. Most of them i gave to my elderly customers. I also made two 5 gallon buckets of blue berry wine. And five 5 gallon buckets of grape wine. I give it away at Thanksgiving and Christmas. No i don't drink wine, beer or anything else. Some years ago i did like Wild Turkey! And about that rabbit ......lets just say they don't like lead. Thanks David, i try with the garden. It is hot here, but i was bless with some rain this evening.

Most of my summer crops are gone. My beautiful stand of corn was was destroyed by two weeks of 100% weather. Tomatoes produce really well as did everything except the corn. I have Butter beans,Butter peas, Okra, and Dixie lee peas planted and doing well. This weekend if weather holds up. I will plant my Collards ,Turnips, Winter salads,& Mustard greens. So long from my little patch of dirt.
