Last night was one of the best non November derbies Cayuga, Indiana has had for a very long time. 40 full size, 10 trucks, and at least a dozen compacts passed inspection. They ran 4 full size heats plus two consi heats as well as running feature runs for the compacts/trucks. Drivers from all over Indiana and Central Illinois were on display. Dave Matherly #76 of West Terre Haute, Indiana won the full size class in a Caddyback hybrid. It's the same one he had back in June. It's a mid 70s Caddy sedan fitted onto a Chevy wagon frame. It's a full weld/plate derby so builders can get to be pretty creative in dreaming up cars. 2nd place was Brian Gearhart in a 2nd gen suicided Lincoln, 3rd was Shane Berck aka Superman in a Mark V Lincoln, 4th Dean Shorter in a bubble top 90s Lincoln, and 5th went to Austin Knorr who was also driving a suicide door Lincoln. A great derby with the most action seen all year at Cayuga. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
