The Mustang II is a Mustang too!

![]() Today's car of the day is Hasbro Transformers' 1976 Chevrolet Camaro (Bumblebee). ![]()
![]() For more information and pictures of the real car please visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second-generation_Chevrolet_Camaro ![]() The producers of the Transformers movie insisted on picking the absolute worst Camaro model year they could to introduce Bumblebee. For those who haven't seen the movie he disguises himself on a used car lot in order to be 'purchased' by the Witwicky family. When insulted by Megan Fox's character, he redisguises himself as the current Camaro which conveniently drives past in the opposite direction (three years before it entered production- can you say plothole?). ![]()
![]() Not the best replica out there, but it's not supposed to be. This is meant for kids to have a Hot Wheels sized Bumblebee to play with alongside the rest of their cars. And for that, it works perfectly.

Support your local demo derby.

This model may have a fan club, I'm just not a member. As a side note, this wouldn't be a Garage thread without a bit of a derby reference. I did see a '75 or 76 Camaro win a heat vs some Imperials and roundback wagons about 5 or 6 years ago. He pretty much wasted the car, but sure was fun to watch. |

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!

I think we're going to be seeing/talking about this series off and on, as there are a number of interesting cars for the scale. The 2010 Camaro is not bad, for one. I'm contemplating buying that Mustang Police car and a few others, as they are good bases for some unusual ideas and customs. The prices need to come down, and I think they will once the inital rush by the series followers and collectors is over. |
