The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
Don't be too alarmed. Per the Internet Movie Car Database:

Quote:

The car we blew up in American Gangster was a shell which we purchased from a Junk Yard in PA. It was ready to be scrapped. There was no floors, and most of it was rusted thru and thru. We spent about 20K making it a clone of the real Shelby used in the other scenes of the movie.(that one was the real deal No. 1886 whch is sitting in my garage right now) movie making is all smoke and mirrors after all.
