Since I am skimping out on the die-cast for real cars, I figured I'd at least show you guys what I've been up to this weekend Here's a little thing I wrote up about the work we've been doing on our club's car:Here at Clemson University, I am active with the Clemson Sports Car Club. The club owns an '84 RX-7, and this weekend a few friends and I did some work on it. Just thought I'd share for the heck of it if anyone cares for these things. We've got most of the interior out (done this weekend), some special airbox, muffler delete, and some suspension mods I think. The car has been around a while and I don't think anyone knows exactly what's in it anymore. No power steering, thing is a beast. Anyway, here's some pics. We like our tape way too much  ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() All the crap we took out this weekend: ![]() ![]() And the result: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ^Not as loud as you might think It's good to have this thing up and running; apparently it sat dormant for a few years before I started attending Clemson. Two years ago me and a couple of friends swapped the engine in it, but nothing else was done until about a month ago. Since then it's gotten a new carb, the brakes have been re-done (someone left them a mess), and a few other things that I'm not sure of. |

We've probably gotten 40-50 pounds between the interior and the muffler...none of that stuff except the muffler was terribly heavy. And I have no idea what class it'd be in, we usually put it in its own class at our autocrosses. |

Wow, a university with a sports car club! I don't know of any over here that have sports car clubs. Anyway, looks like it'll be good fun to drive. My MGB has no power steering and for such a small car, it's a lot harder to drive than it looks, but no less fun! |
