Today's bus of the day is Road Champs' 1994 Eagle Coach 15 Series Bus.

Wikipedia

The first Eagles were the Golden Eagles made by the German Company Kassbohrer. The first 54 Eagle Coaches built of the 200 contracted by Continental Trailways were these "Golden Eagles". Four of those 54 coaches were articulated buses that were longer and bent in the middle. All of these coaches were of the "Setra Design" which meant that they had a chassis less frame called Selbst Tragend (self-carrying). The bus was called "Setra" from the first letters of both words. A slightly less equipped model called "Silver Eagle" with the traditional silver siding was designed and became standardized as the fleet bus for Continental Trailways.

Just as all real 1:1 travel buses travel far, this particular casting of mine has traveled just as far. I've had this bus since second grade, where the bus often made weekly trips to my school desk. (Many days the bus was taken away from me from the regularly returning substitute teacher) This bus had also traveled with me to Japan, China, Philippines, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.

This cast also has rubber wheels, as opposed to the plastic wheels on the Road Champs' '93 International 3800 School Bus.

Wikipedia

Since 1976 - all US bound coaches were built in Brownsville, TX. The Model 10 was introduced with many design changes in 1980. In 1985 the Model 15 was introduced making the standard bus 102 inches wide, then four years later coaches could be ordered 45 feet long. In 1987 Greyhound purchased Trailways and Eagle International, Inc. The name was then changed to Eagle Bus Mfg. Inc. In the 90's, Greyhound declared bankruptcy which also included all of its subsidiaries and Eagle Bus Mfg. Inc. Some Eagles were being made, mostly "Entertainer Coaches" for celebrities. In the late 90's the company was split and moved to two distinct places in Mexico. Mexico has a high demand for seated buses and Eagles were built for that market - all with the famous Eagle Ride "Torsilastic Suspension".

If you want to keep going, by all means feel free to- send me a PM and we can figure out something!

I'm in agreement that this one is my favorite for the week, though I must admit to also loving the Ikarus.

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
Excellent piece to end the week. This is going to REEEEEELY be tough for me to vote this week, as I'd like ALL of them in my collection, but only one vote :( , that's it.

<--- Dominique wants a ride in that bus.

I'll ride with her. We'll sit all the way in the back, if possible... ;)
