close on 60 cars turned up at Standlake for the annual 1400cc teams event, a real mixture of cars being used from the usual sort of 1400cc bilge to a Austin Maestro van, Mk.3 Ford Cortina plus some interesting Jap stuff in the form of an early Mitsubishi Colt, early Toyota Corolla estate and the sport's first ever Mazda Demio

Action was fast and furious with no fewer than 3 rollovers plus one of the largest wrecks seen at Standlake for quite some time...been sad and sorted out the fresh pics into teams, not sure on all the team names though

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!
Judging from the wreck shots this must have been one heck of a hard hitting meet!

Side note- is the Demio car #113 ?

Support your local demo derby.

Must have been a kick ass event for so many twisted cars! Did the driver in the #67 car survive at all? Yikes that looked wicked. Do agree with Jon, must be odd to see so many new style cars at events nowadays.

Thanks for the pics Mookie.

nah it's the blue #80

the guy in 67 got out totally fine, if he was any fatter though he would've done damage to his legs as the entire steering clumn moved down and to the right almost touching the seat
