Stelco was (or is??) a German firm that produced several plastic German cars. All appear to feature chromed plastic baseplates and state the name on the baseplate. They were likely made in the 1970s and not sure how they were offered. Most recently, I found a bright yellow VW 411 which not all that bad. Thanks, Kimmo Here is, the similarly scaled to Matchbox, Opel Commodore...

I do not think Stelco still exists; there are some other companies by the same name nowadays, but those are active in other fields and seem not to be related with the toy car manufacturer dealt with here. Stelco is best known for a range of approx. 1:43 scale soft plastic toy cars (vinyl cars or so-called "rubber cars"), similar to Tomte, Galanite, NP etc. This is why it is mentioned on the following website: http://www.lamsma.nl/tomte/stelco.htm Otherwise there is hardly any information to be found about the brand. The vinyl cars are common, but the three inch hard plastic cars are fairly seldom seen, even in Germany. Edited by ChFalkensteiner, Nov 19 2009, 01:14 AM.
