Hi Guys, I just wanted to show you guys the special promo cars from the iHobby show in Chicago. The car is a metallic blue 1957 Chevrolet Bel AIr with flames. The first image shows the chase car with gold pin striped flames, gold interior and gold rims. The second image shows the regular car with yellow and red flames with white pin striping. The regular car is my new favorite, for now. ![]() ![]() The other promo car that I am really excited about is the 2009 SEMA show Auto-Lift 1970 Ford Mustang BOSS 302 2-pack. The restored metallic gray BOSS 302 is a special ordered color for 1970, as metallic gray was not a standard color for BOSS 302 Mustangs. The color is actually Light Gray Metallic, a Thunderbird-only color in 1970. And now onto the parts car or waiting for restoration car. This car is a rusty and dusty Grabber Blue BOSS 302 for the most part. It has a red Mach 1 428 hood (from the junk yard or swamp meet). Also notice that the passenger front fender and door are from a base model white Mustang (from the junk yard or swamp meet). The following parts are currently missing from the car; drivers side door, steering wheel, passenger seat, rear passenger seat, all the window glass, head lights, rear tail lights and rear wing (check out the holes in trunk lid for wing). This poor Mustang also has three steel rims & one Magnum 500 rim. Three black wall tires and one thin white wall tire rounds out this dilapidated Mustang. You better check the numbers on the engine block, transmission and rear end. You never know, it may still be a matching numbers BOSS 302? Thanks, Sean ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Both look great, but the Stang set is flat out awesome! Any chance we can still get the SEMA Mustangs since the show is now in the books for '09? I'd go for set or two myself. |

New casting?? Quick! Take it apart!
|
Finally, as a new Mustang owner/driver, I second Crafty's comments. I'd like the 'Stang set, too. |
| I used to be a genius, but I found out it's a lot less work and more fun to be a redneck. | |

I'm a sucker for all things blue with flames, and Mustangs. I need to know how to get a regular '57 and the Mustang pack also! Simply put, the Mustang project car is the most realistic weathered car I've seen yet in 1/64 scale. And if I'm not mistaken, this is the first M2 restoration candidate. Excellent first try, and really raises the bar for JL's PIPs, GL's County Roads, and Jada's For Sale. I need one for my collection, albeit it would be proudly displayed in the middle of my junkyard diorama. Silver looks really nice on the Mustang, a pity that's a Thunderbird color so real Mustangs painted that shade are few and far between. Nowadays Ford won't do special paint requests like that... I don't think any of the major manufacturers do. |

Hey Guys, Our distributor, Funlines, ordered both of these promos. I am not 100% sure of price or availability, but here is their web site. http://www.funlines.net/ Also, we had one more item on the weathered Mustang that was not ready for production. It would have added yet one more element to the final product. We have to wait for a future release to use them. The Silver Gray BOSS 302 gets lost a little shown with the weathered car, but it is a great color combination. I have a list somewhere that shows the 11 standard 1970 BOSS 302 colors. It's a real shame this Silver Gray was not on the list. I still can't believe that you could not get a 1970 BOSS 302 in black. Thanks, Sean |

Sean, what are the prospects for seeing a pip like the above Mustang into a regular M2 release? |

Crafty, I assume you are asking about the "weathered" Mustang? The chances are very good. I don't think it would be a whole series like the "For Sale" line by Jada a few years ago. It will most likely be one weathered car here and there. Thanks, Sean |

I'd love a whole series of them, but I'll take one here or there too. ![]() I think the Jada line fizzled with the second release due to their casting selections, not the concept in particular. Some (RX-7, '39 Cadillac) just hung around forever, while others disappeared off the pegs so quickly I never saw them. Will "Weathered" be the name of the theme, like JL's are known as PIPs (Projects In Progress) and Jada's are known as For Sale? I just want to know what to call them when I start seeing them!

There is really no official name as of now. I am the only one working on this project with our factory, so I really didn't have to name it anything. Other names I used when talking about the car to collectors are survivor, barn find, field car and unrestored car. Thanks, Sean |

I like "Survivors" as a series name. Has a good ring to it! But whatever you go with, that's what we'll call 'em. Just as long as you keep them coming, that's all I ask.

I'm sure you have some cosmic rationale... but here you are, in the ninth, two men out and three men on... nowhere to look, but inside, where we all respond to PRESSURE!!! | |
